Food, ambiance, service everything is set up for a wonderful evening with friends or the love of your life!

There are so many very good restaurants in Montreal, and this has to be one of the top ten. The location in Old Montreal is fun, the restaurant interior is perfect for a cozy (fall/winter) evening, the food is excellent with some unique desserts (save room), the service is very good with a nice attitude, and the wine list is extensive (but unfortunately very expensive: hint: the Malbec from Argentina was very good, for a more reasonable price). This is ideal for a special dinner, a romantic evening, or a quiet important business dinner. - Not a wild energetic young hip environment!

Have been several times and always very satisfied. The food is very tasty and hearty while still being somewhat inventive; very in-line with the somewhat dark but welcoming atmosphere. Montreal needs more restaurants like this that do it all, without pretension.

Our hotel helped us get in at this in-demand restaurant. Note that there is no name on the door, just a sign with their symbol hanging above, so be sure you can recognize it! I read many reviews on this restaurant but was confused on one point...was it quiet or noisy? Reviewers didn't seem to agree. The answer is BOTH. We had a 6:30pm reservation and until about 8pm, the restaurant was lovely. Then the noise rose to the "cafeteria" levels noted by another reviewer. Unfortunately, the service dropped off accordingly and what started as a meal that made my elderly parents feel papered and special ended in a din and we resorted to flagging down water boys to beg for our check.
All that aside, the food was fabulous. Fantastic. My father said it may have been the best meal of his life. The sauces in particular were first-rate.
We had four appetizers, four entrees and shared two desserts. We ordered a bottle of white for the table and my parter and I split a single glass of red. Bill was 492$CD including the 15% tip I left.)
