First ate here five years ago and had an exceptional meal. Returned in November and we had an amazing meal. Great building, wonderful staff and again, exceptional meals.

“Delightful evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

My wife and I had a wonderful evening at Bonaparte. The setting is warm and romantic, the service was personable yet professional, and the food was great. You will pay for the privilege, but it's no more expensive than other high end restaurants. We had a great time and would definitely return.

“A delighful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

It was my first time in Montreal (had my girlfirned and parents with me) and i wanted my parents to experience some french cuisine. Based on review i thought that Bonaparte would be a great option. Well... Indeed it was. Everyone loved it. The restaurant was really nice and the server was pretty great!

The food was a little on the expensive side compared to a similar restaurant we ate in Quebec City, but not by much. (Cost vs options). However the quality and presentation of the food was beyond our expectations. We all had plates from their degustation menu. Everything was on point. The only observation was the delay between plates. I know you're supposed to enjoy it and wait for your next entree/choice. However, the wait time between choices was a bit too long. But it did not ruin our experience. We truly enjoyed it!

The Lamb, Salmon with truffle oil and the deserts were phenomenal. Amazing place for a family or romantic dinner if you're in town!

“Solid, but not Exceptional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

For a long weekend in Montreal, we elected to dine one evening at Bonaparte. We chose the 7 course tasting menu and enjoyed the meal. The Lobster bisque was quite good, as were the lamb chops. Service left a bit to be desired. In fact, it appeared that the restaurant may have been short-staffed by a waiter or so. There were times where we questioned whether the waiter/staff had forgotten that we were there. Nevertheless, the food was enjoyable, but I wouldn't necessarily find that the restaurant is worthy of such a high ranking on TripAdvisor.

“If you're in Montreal, you must visit this restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Starter: mushroom ravioli; entree: scallops over mushroom with truffle oil; dessert: chocolate chip souffle -- everything was just about as good as it gets... This is a fairly expensive place to eat, but the food, atmosphere, and service is totally worth a night of splurging! Really, a must-try in Montreal!
