“oh Beef Cheeks!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

Came here with a group of 10 guys while in town for Bachelor party. This place blew the other food we had in Montreal out of the water! some us cmae for drink before hand a the bar. Lively place, sophisticated crowd. knowledgeable staff. well stocked bar.

I had the Salmon Tartare for the appetizer and it was incredibly good and the main course I had the Beef Cheek dish and it was one of the best things I have had any restaurant. Ordered from cuvee and red wines. An overall excellent experience.

“Good choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

Location on the edge of Old Montreal. The restaurant is fairly large with a big bar. The staff was prompt and efficient. The wine list is large with plenty of options by the glass. The food choices were many, with entrees priced reasonably for area. The food itself was good with a nice size portions for both appetizer and entrees.
Good choice for a nice meal.

“Bon appetit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014 via mobile

While staying at Le Petite Hotel we asked for a recommendation for dinner at a French bistro. The hotel recommended Restaurant Holder. From the moment we walked in the door we knew this was going to be a great dinner. The delicious smells of boeuf Bourguinonne greeted and welcomed us. Service was almost too fast by an excellently trained staff. Efficient, smooth and attentive service without hovering or intrusion. I had the bourguinonne and my husband dined on the steak frites. I have never closed my eyes while enjoying dessert but the chocolate cremeux with coffee ice cream was intense and velvety smooth and was best experienced with full concentration on its full chocolaty flavor. Bon appetit

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

My husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday in July, everything was excellent. The place was filled and bustling in a nice way, our server was attentive and helpful with menu choices. We had the endive and watercress salad, the salmon and beef tartars as appetizers and then the beef cheeks and mussels. Everything was very good, I'm a huge mussels fan and these did not disappoint. Definitely recommend.

“Great discovery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

Perfectly located in Old Montreal, almost at the corner of Saint Paul street. I recommend the Salmon tartare with yogurt and Mujjol caviar as an appetizer. One of the best tartare I ate in a restaurant. Lobster ravioli, truffle oil beurre blanc is delicious. A nice varied menu so anyone should find something they like. Service is flawless and the decor really impressive. They have an old school look with a modern touch. Some lovely choices on their wine list as well. Just as you think it can't get any better there's the dessert menu. Butterscotch mi-cuit, Maldon salt, butterscotch ice cream is absolutely delectable. Normally I'm not a dessert fan but this one is quite something. Great food, great atmosphere you can't ask any better to start the evening.
