“Great Rooftop Terrace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

We stopped for a drink before heading out to dinner. While we needed to wait for a outdoor seating, we were well served indoors. Once seating became available, the manager took care of us directly. Good service. Popular with a younger after work crowd.

“Hip happening, but no service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Place was hip happening, busy, with buzzz. Came to watch the good old hockey game, beer is warm.
And no service,

Gone!

“Okay service, great happy hour prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Went here without knowing anything about it, had snacks/drinks at the street level lounge. The decor is very trendy and clean. The music was super loud, especially since it was only 6pm. Most of the people here appeared to be coming straight from work. I had a portabello burger that was good, the sweet potato fries were great. My friend had macaroni and cheese, but found it too filling to finish. The service was okay, kind of slow but still acceptable. The best part was the happy hour prices, two beers for the price of one. There was nothing awesome or terrible about this place. Probably wouldn't go back because it wasn't really my scene.

“A stylish & overpriced restaurant with a great atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

The Newtown décor is chic and very comfortable. It’s an upscale experience; this is a lounge for the Well-dressed crowd.
Drinks are overpriced. Food was also very pricy with little portions. I know it is a fancy place but I expect always to get full from a 24$ plate in a lounge/bar in crescent.
Service was good in the main floor, slow in the 3rd floor. The 3rd floor terrace is a must for a European style seating.
The music was loud on my most recent visit, a Thursday night.
I’ll go back to Newtown for a drink with some selected friends.

“Avoid this place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

Music too loud although its good. Drinks not good and overpriced. 9,20$ for a watered down gin tonic. Service is bad and slow and the place is congested on main floor. Did not try food but it did not look appetizing and was also very pricy. So many better places to go to in Montreal. Avoid this place unless you are truly superficial and just looking to go to a place for the name.
