Tuesday night in Montreal... I am taking out my friend for diner. Where to go, how much i want to spend & where can we sit and chat for a couple of hours? At first we went to this Thai place, well we were to early, it only opens at 6:30pm. We decided to keep walking and decided to stop a this Italian restaurante... On rue de la Montagne. This is the best choice so far this week ( i've been here since yesterday morning). So let me share with you my experience.
Location: loacated in a busy area, accross the street from Bell Centre just beside a few more restaurants. Close to Ste Catherine where shopping and traffic is located. Easy to find and not dangerous if your walking alone after dark.
Outside sign: the restaurant is very well indicated, nice sign outside which makes this place easy to find.
Service: walked in and were welcomed by a great waiter. Took off our coats and were invited to the dinning room. Very good service, he left us alone when he realize we were chatting and having great discussion.
Food: we had the table d'hote, soupe or salade, pasta for my friend Doris and fish for me. Well prepared, fresh, tasty and very very good. We had dessert of course... Awesome.
Price: i was suprised, we had 2 tables d'hotes, desserts, i glass of wine, tea and coffee... Under 100$. Was worth it... Every penny!
This is a place to go for great italian food in Montreal.

Il Campari Centro Restaurant was recommended to us from friends that visit Montreal often. We are really happy that we ate there. The food is very italian...very homemade. Pasta Fagioli, Ossobucco and Veal Parmigiana...all delicious. You can not judge a book by its cover but you can judge an italian restaurant by its tomato sauce. Their tomato sauce could be compared to my grandmothers...delicious...just right. The cannoli for dessert were out of this world. Our waiter Tomi was very entertaining. Highly recommend ! You won't be disappointed.

A rather over-priced restaurant, albeit good food. But that annoying habit of frequently topping up one's wine glass so that one has to order another bottle.

After looking at a number of Trip Advisor reviews we decided to try this restaurant to see if for ourselves. I have to say that we were not disappointed. The minestrone soup , salad and pasta dishes were well prepared, tasty and perfectly cooked. The service was attentive and friendly with good pacing between courses. Great wine list but, somewhat on the pricey side for their vintage wines.The restaurant's decor is dated but comfortable. All in all, a good spot to enjoy traditional Italian food.
