“Fantastic place to stay in the heart of Montreal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

I stayed one week for the SPIE conference in June 2014. Check-in was fast and easy, and I was given coupons for two free drinks per night at the hotel reception. The room was fantastic, featuring two large water bottles, a large refrigerator, and two flat-screen televisions. I had plenty of closet space with three separate closet areas. The bathroom featured a Jacuzzi tub as well as a small walk-in shower. Breakfast was always tasty, featuring local breads and cooked-to-order omelets. My only regret is that I couldn't take my wife on this trip!

We have stayed at numerous Embassy Suites and have always been amazed and pleased at the quality of the room/food/service. This one was an exception.

We reserved a room with two queens. The beds were doubles (we measured them) but the front desk stuck by their story, necessitating our daughter to sleep on an uncomfortable sofa bed so that we coud have a good night's sleep in separate beds. Room design was hard to understand: a spacious bathroom with a huge double jacuzzi tub, but a miniscule shower in which you could barely turn around. The large kitchen had absolutely no dishes, glassware or equipment for cooking.

They advertise free wifi and parking for Hilton Honors members, but we were told that only applied to elite member categories, not the regular membership. The free wifi in the lobby was accessible only in a small, noisy area off the elevators.

Breakfast was chaotic -- masses of people all trying to access food in a confined area with long lines for omelets. Cocktail snacks consisted of veggies and dip, chips and salsa each of the 3 nights we stayed there. The elevators were always overcrowded, even when both were functioning (not always the case), so we found ourselves taking the service elevator across from our room -- a blessing in disguise.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms facing street are quieter. Be aware that the two beds are doubles, not queens.

Stayed for 1 night and have to say that is one of the best hotels I have stayed. The reception ladies are very helpful. One of them is hispanic and gave the extra mile to made our stay a pleasant one. The room are an ahhhh! Big, spacious, clean and the bathroom had a huge jacuzzi and a separate shower. Free made to order breakfast and evening drinks. Highly recommended!

I chose Embassy Suites for its outstanding location, across the street from the convention center, and moderate price. The staff was excellent. The WiFi worked consistently well. Our "studio" came with a full size fridge and dish washer, microwave, and table service for 2. (No can opener, etc.) The 3 elevators were very noisy. Approximately every 8 seconds, about 18 hours per day, there would be a noise of giant motors ramping up to speed then slowing down, as the cars accelerated and slowed. I travel with ear plugs and needed them. Across the alleyway, a construction crew was tearing the facade off of a very large building, and making a lot of noise every work day. The view was dominated by a scaffold with a porta-potty perched on it at our level. The breakfast buffet was fairly complete, including nice fresh sliced fruit, sausage, and industrial eggs. A warning about the cook-to-order omelet bar. If you just ask for an omelet, the cook will pour a thin yellow liquid out of a "milk carton" type container, and cook it to crunchiness (if not cooked hard, it will be even more unpleasant). But there is a bowl of real, fresh eggs. Be sure to ask for your eggs to be taken from the fresh egg bowl - if you don't, you will regret it. There is a happy hour with 2 drink coupons per guest. The drinks are fine, though the beer taps did not work for 3 days. At times it was so crowded that service was quite slow. Be sure to tip for your free drinks, it's just decent. The accompanying snacks - veggies, chips, one dip and one salsa - were fine, always the same, and if you want any, arrive well before the 7PM cutoff. I'm rating the hotel 4 stars mainly for its convenience and price. But if the negatives mentioned are important to you, you will probably think 4 is too high.

Room Tip: Try to get a room looking onto the front (to avoid noise in alley), high up (to avoid street noise...

We were attending an event at the Conference Center across the street, so the location was excellent. Also good walking distance to Old Montreal attractions. Wifi was free for us, but connection was terrible. Unfortunately, when we specifically requested a suite with a stove so we could cook meals for my son who has Celiac Disease, we were switched to a smoking suite. No rooms were available to switch to until day 2, so we had the option to either choke our way through the night in a smoking room or keep the windows open for fresh air and cook in the 29°C heat because the A/C doesn't work with the windows open. They were able to move us to a different room the next afternoon, but then I had to make 4 requests (including 2 to the Manager) for pots / pans / utensils to enable us to USE the stove. I mentioned to the Manager that I'd be looking for compensation for the various inconveniences, which he acknowledged, but there was nothing noted on our file and no compensation was given, though he was sure to mention that our new room was an upgraded room for the same price. As for as I can tell, the upgraded room was slightly larger and had nothing in it to make the kitchen usable. Unfortunately I did not have time to press the issue when we checked out as we had a long drive ahead for the day and needed to get started.

The Embassy Suites Hotel on St-Antoine offers a great service, clean and comfortable rooms at a very competitive price. Close to the subway and major tourists areas, also close to downtown for business travel.

The Embassy Suites is located close to all of the best attractions in Old Montreal. Just park your car in the parking garage, get on your walking shoes, and walk Old Montreal and the port area where there are many shops and restaurants, as well as museums and other attractions. The Embassy has a terrific cooked to order breakfast each morning in a nice size restaurant or site outside. In the evening there is a reception from 5-7 when snacks and drinks are served. The suites are very spacious, especially the bathrooms, with a huge tub and separate shower. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms and entire hotel are very clean.

Room Tip: Street side is best now as they are doing construction on a building on the opposite side of the hot...
