“Not sure why this is listed as an airport hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

I booked this hotel for my son and I last week because of an early morning flight and that it had come up on expedia as and airport hotel. Well the shuttle ride to the airport took at least 15-17 minutes. Once there the hotel seemed to be quite nice, beds were a little hard and pillows even harder but clean.

Room Tip: Ask for feather pillows

Check in has been quick and efficient.
Room was clean and up to Novotel standards.
Wifi was fast and easy to connect.
I ordered a pizza from room service which I highly enjoyed.
Check out has been without any issue and receptionist assisted me in order to catch the shuttle.
Will return to this hotel anytime I am in the Dorval area.

We needed to stay in Montreal over night while travelling from NYC to Halifax due to weather related cancelled flights with Air Canada. Fortunately we had purchased Travel My Way travel insurance for $25 which paid off for us in this case. We were given a choice of two hotels and we were pleased we chose this one. We were provided with a huge room with two queen size beds which were exceptionally comfortable. The bed linens were of superior quality and I meant to ask them who their supplier was but forgot. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. Bathroom was very spacious and the towels were new and fluffy. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very, very good with lots to choose from in terms of both hot and cold dishes. Shuttle to and from the hotel to the airport was swift and convenient. We would stay here again.

If you have business in the West Island this hotel provides a convenient location while being right at the interchange (easy to travel east or west on the highway). The hotel has a modern decor, the rooms are stylish, although the double beds in the room leave little space to comfortably work at the desk.

The room rates are on the higher side of the value equation, but being part of the Technoparc the place seems to have a high occupancy rate.

The restaurant (Trio) has tasty food at reasonable hotel prices.

Room Tip: Room with odd numbers have a view of Montreal.

My husband and I had high hopes and expectations for the hotel but unfortunately we left with a bad impression of it. We travel often and this has been the worst hotel experience for us, therefore we felt the need to inform you about our overall experience.

Our experience began upon our arrival at the airport. We awaited the shuttle to pick us up as we saw all of the other hotel shuttles come to pick up guests. Some were even waiting for guests to arrive. We spoke to some guests from other hotels and none of them were expected to call their hotel for pick up. We were unaware that we had call to have someone pick us up and ended up waiting for over an hour. My husband finally went and asked an airport employee who advised him to call the hotel for the shuttle. It says nowhere on the hotels website that guests need to call for shuttle pick up. I would suggest hiring separate shuttle drivers as well, it just seems easier and more practical rather than have the front desk staff pick up and drop off. I've never seen this at any hotel, as they all have separate drivers.

On our first night at the hotel, we thought we would order dinner. We called front desk and asked if there was a Yellow Pages directory and were told that there was none. He told us we could use the internet, however the internet was slow and we couldn't find what we were looking for. My husband then asked the same receptionist about shuttle service hours. The receptionist replied by saying "I thought you just came from the airport. Even if you get a shuttle to go, you may not get one to come back." His tone was very unprofessional and rude. We had to call a taxi to go out to eat dinner. Later that night after returning, my husband checked the coffee maker table and found the yellow pages in the drawer. There clearly is a lack of knowledge about the rooms by staff.

Another point I would like to make is that since the hotel is located in such a desolate area, there should be longer shuttle hours, past 9:00 p.m. On Saturday we went to Old Montreal and arrived at the airport at 9:30 p.m. We called Novotel for a shuttle pick up and were told that the last shuttle had already picked up. We had to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Taxis in Quebec are very expensive compared to Toronto. We were shocked at how expensive a short ride is. It was very upsetting to have to waste money unecessarily on just taxi service. The only reason we stayed at your hotel despite the location is because the website states that it has shuttle service from the airport and train station. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, how can the shuttle service end at 9 p.m.? The hours of operation need to be specified and there is NO shuttle to the train station, contrary to what the website states. Please modify this information accordingly. It is misleading and very unprofessional for such a reputable chain of hotels.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Novotel Montreal Airport hotel after our Company Christmas party. The hotel is modern and very clean. Our room had a very comfortable King bed. When we arrived after our party, the hotel was quite load as the was an office party going on, but once we got to our room everything is very quiet and we had a great night sleep. Room is nicely appointed and the bathroom is largec compared to other hotels I have stayed at. Great value for the price. Will stay again.

Hotel area is typical to airport zone, you need a car! Nothing around except the trans Canadienne et the airport runways. Rooms a big, comfortable, well equipped and clean. Breakfast is done in a warm looking room, food is correct. Diner time, a la carte is very average (hamburger over done, pastries still frozen...) and totally over priced.
Lobby is well decorated, and gives you a warm feeling.
All staff of the hotel is welcoming, service orientated and always listening to you.
Hotel to be recommended, yet not cheap.
