“Amazing bed, delicious breakfast, incredible hostess”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2010

We recently stayed at La Terra Nostra for two nights in the Afrika room. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and both my husband and I slept better than usual. Breakfasts were delicious- our favorite was the pear-stuffed croissant french toast. Mireille was an absolute delight- waiting up for our late arrival, calling many restaurants to make difficult, New Year's Eve, last-minute reservations for us, giving helpful pointers about the city, and offering great suggestions in general. The free parking was an added bonus, as was the adorable neighborhood in which the house is located. It is a little bit of a walk (15 minutes down a cute street) to the metro, but once in the station, it is easy to navigate around the city. After you finish your day of walking, it is a wondrous feeling to walk into the beautiful, cozy room, especially for a soak in the oversized tub in the gorgeous bathroom! We would definitely go back.

“One word...amazing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2009

As other reviewers have stated, this is a beautiful, well-kept & appointed B&B. For first time B&B'ers...Le Terra Nostra certainly set the bar very high for any other B&B we may visit. We visited for a getaway over the US Thanksgiving holiday (late November).

Rooms - We stayed in the Afrika room, which is warm, beautifully decorated, and has as gorgeous bathroom (pictures on the website are absolutely accurate). The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was easy to control. The heated floors in the bathroom were my favorite part! You can tell that Mireille put so much thought into the design & layout of the rooms...from the towel hangers, warm lighting and beautiful wall decor down to the tissue boxes & soap dispenser. The room (and the rest of the house, for that matter) was SPOTLESS when we arrived.

Breakfast - As others have said, breakfast is not to be missed when you stay at this B&B. We had delicious fruit & yogurt with puff pastry, ham & cheese crepes and french toast (with delicious syrups) accompained by delicious juice, tea each day & again...beautiful decor.

Surroundings - my husband and I are active people, and took advantage of the perfect location literally 1 minute (walk) from the path along the river. We ran 8km and 5km after breakfast two of the mornings we stayed. Even in November when everything is brown, the river and the park are beautiful and we highly recommend you check this out! We can't wait to come back in the spring or summer...I'm sure the riverfront is buzzing with activity.

We drove to Montreal, but decided to keep our visit stress-free so we used the Metro to get to/from downtown & other areas instead of driving. There are two Metro stops nearby...if you'd like to walk along the river, it will take about 15 minutes by foot to get to the De L'Eglise stop. We had a bit of rain, so we drove to the Verdun Metro station, where we could park for free right outside (within 1 block) and it was less than 5 minutes drive from Le Terra Nostra. The Metro system was easy to use - we each bought a 3-day pass for $17 and used it for at least 2 round trip trips each day. We did not explore too much of Verdun as this was our first time to Montreal and wanted to see more of the top attractions (Biodome, Mont Royal, Old Montreal & Plateau).

We would certainly recommend this B&B to friends...Mireille is amazing and truly understands how to provide stellar accommodations & friendly service. She is extremely knowledgable about the area, helpful and a pleasure to have met. We will return! :)

“a most enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2009

I spent 10 nights in the Terra Nostra and I enjoyed every minute of my stay. I loved the bedrooms so comfortable, clean, and so tastefully decorated. I appreciated the convenient location of the place, close to the city center and yet in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the banks of the St-Laurent River. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. She cooks delicious breakfasts, different every morning, which can be served in an enchanting little garden. The Terra Nostra is an outstanding B&B where I got more than I expected. I will come again.

“Marvelous Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2009

Le Terra Nostra is a wonderful place to stay if you're visiting Montreal. Hostess Mimi Lauzon will help you find any attractions in the region, sitting down to help you plan your itinerary. Her breakfasts are unique and delicious, her rooms stylish, roomy, comfortable, and quiet. The location in Verdun works better than you might think because there are many fine restaurants in the neighborhood, you can park your car for free, the inn is a block from the St. Lawrence River and the bike trails and parks that border it (Mimi has bikes for you in the garage), and the metro takes you downtown in minutes. Simply put, this is the best B&B we have ever stayed in.

“Bright, Clean, Most Helptul, and Friendly with a New and Creative Daily Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2009

The way a good place to stay ought to be. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise daily. Guests were well-behaved and quiet. The innkeeper was accommodating, helpful and friendly. We would visit again. Our room was so carefully planned and thought out to follow a theme. Wonderful!!!
