As other reviewers have stated, this is a beautiful, well-kept & appointed B&B. For first time B&B'ers...Le Terra Nostra certainly set the bar very high for any other B&B we may visit. We visited for a getaway over the US Thanksgiving holiday (late November).
Rooms - We stayed in the Afrika room, which is warm, beautifully decorated, and has as gorgeous bathroom (pictures on the website are absolutely accurate). The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was easy to control. The heated floors in the bathroom were my favorite part! You can tell that Mireille put so much thought into the design & layout of the rooms...from the towel hangers, warm lighting and beautiful wall decor down to the tissue boxes & soap dispenser. The room (and the rest of the house, for that matter) was SPOTLESS when we arrived.
Breakfast - As others have said, breakfast is not to be missed when you stay at this B&B. We had delicious fruit & yogurt with puff pastry, ham & cheese crepes and french toast (with delicious syrups) accompained by delicious juice, tea each day & again...beautiful decor.
Surroundings - my husband and I are active people, and took advantage of the perfect location literally 1 minute (walk) from the path along the river. We ran 8km and 5km after breakfast two of the mornings we stayed. Even in November when everything is brown, the river and the park are beautiful and we highly recommend you check this out! We can't wait to come back in the spring or summer...I'm sure the riverfront is buzzing with activity.
We drove to Montreal, but decided to keep our visit stress-free so we used the Metro to get to/from downtown & other areas instead of driving. There are two Metro stops nearby...if you'd like to walk along the river, it will take about 15 minutes by foot to get to the De L'Eglise stop. We had a bit of rain, so we drove to the Verdun Metro station, where we could park for free right outside (within 1 block) and it was less than 5 minutes drive from Le Terra Nostra. The Metro system was easy to use - we each bought a 3-day pass for $17 and used it for at least 2 round trip trips each day. We did not explore too much of Verdun as this was our first time to Montreal and wanted to see more of the top attractions (Biodome, Mont Royal, Old Montreal & Plateau).
We would certainly recommend this B&B to friends...Mireille is amazing and truly understands how to provide stellar accommodations & friendly service. She is extremely knowledgable about the area, helpful and a pleasure to have met. We will return! :)
