“Great location and an excellent value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2011

We loved our stay here. It was right in the middle of all the action, so was easy to walk everywhere. Was a decent room that provided everything we needed and was clean. Breakfast was in a nice little lounge, very European spread of breads and fruit and cereal. Actually everything reminded me of Euro guesthouses. What made this stay the best though was the staff. Bertrand is amazing, so friendly and helpful and he saved us from a potentially disastrous situation from booking through priceline (they didn't send through our reservation and it was after hours so had Bert not seen us, we'd be out of a room). The other guys working the front desk were also very friendly. If you want the best value in Montreal with exceptional service, look no further. Also parking at the library on Rue Berri was the best value at $12 a day, and is right around the corner.

Room Tip: Careful if going through priceline, you might call the hotel itself to confirm your reservation.

We're pleased we found this hotel - great value - it's modern and clean with everything for a comfortable stay. The rooms we've stayed in are perfect (not as big as the major chains but big enough) with mini-kitchen (microwave / fridge) and ensuite. The beds are a bit hard, but fine - the extra bed we've been provided during our stays has been an airbed. It's a simple formula but very effective. That sums up the breakfast too: fresh, continental style and good coffee! The staff are incredibly pleasant and helpful - there are only a few of them and they really do make an effort to provide a good service. The hotel's located a few minutes from Berri-Uqam metro and the main bus station. Rue St Denis is lively with a variety of good and affordable restaurants, and it's about a 30 minute walk from the centre of town.

Perfect place to stay for the F1 weekend, I'm almost afraid to say this because I don't want everyone else to find out about it. To start with as I said in the header the rates, while a little bit higher than a normal weekend, they were nowhere close to the 300 -400% markup most other Montreal hotels charge for the F1 weekend. The rooms are quite basic, but clean & comfortable. While we had a few problems in the begining, the staff fell over themselves to make things right and did so quickly and without issue. I received what I felt, for the first time in dealing with a hotel staff member was a true and sincere apology for the misunderstanding, which in all honesty, I may have been partly to blame for.

I breakfast in the morning was very basic and very good all at the same time. The location couldn't be any better, short walk to the subway , one stop to the race, tons of little bars and bistros in the area. Worth everypenny we paid, already booked for next year.

Room Tip: stay in at least the gold rooms

The double beds would have been too small for two people, but fine for one person. The staff are friendly, and the place was clean and felt very safe. Although it's on St. Denis, we got a room at the back and it was nice and quiet. The internet connection was fast. The furnishing is extremely basic, but quite adequate. However, there are a lot of steps to negotiate, not just outside, but inside as well, which might be problematic for people with heavy luggage and/or movement difficulties.

Good location is the best thing about this place. The rooms are ok, bed not particularly comfy. Hard as nails and there was only 3 pillows 2 of which were very thin. Ended up using the spare blanket as a pillow and also a couple of jumpers.
It provided everything we needed just not particularly well.
Location is great, very close to the subway and plenty of restaurants and bars within minutes walk.
I don't think I'd stay here again but then again, I don't think I'd come back to Montreal anyway, didn't really do it for us. Wouldn't recommend this place to people, unless they are on a tight budget.

It's not fancy, but it is affordable, convenient, comfortable, clean and safe. I have no complaints at all. Stayed there for 5 nights and found the cozy little room with fridge, microwave and private bathroom just perfect. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful, coffee and croissants were delicious too! SO conveniently located in the middle of everything. Loved it. I'd definitely stay here again.
