“Local Fav'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

Myriade reminds me of Vancouver and that is ALWAYS a good thing, because in my opinion, it's (Van) the coffee capital of Canada. But I digress.

I really like Myriade because they make amazing lattes. They also use/sell some of my favorite beans from 49th Parallel (from Vancouver!) and Black Cat and that's always a bonus. The staff is very friendly and happy to enlighten you, should you have questions about roasts, bean quality, grinds etc. They're also not over-priced, unlike some coffee shops. Love it!

Myriade is very small, so I see it as a to-go place, more than anything. That said, they do have an outdoor patio that's great when the ground isn't covered with snow and it's not -30 :-). Up side: They offer baked goodies from Pikolo that are to die for - perfect with your morning (or afternoon) coffee. Try the peach & coriander muffin - YUM!

Note that this café is right next to Concordia and is therefore a student hangout. If you go during peak hours, you can forget finding a seat!
So.... what are you waiting for? Go check'em out!

“Expensive but awesome cafe in Mile-End (& downtown)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

I love cafe Myriade! I've been going semi-regularly since the first location opened downtown several years ago. After moving to the mile-end I was delighted to see that they've opened one up here too!

Note: the mile-end location does not have a bathroom! That's tough sometimes especially if you're out with kids

Here's what you need to know: the coffee is top notch. So excellent. It's pricy, so be prepared, but worth it. The owner is a terrific guy with a true passion for coffee, but younger staffers aren't always as attentive. I've been at the mile-end location several times when I've tried to get the attention of the barista but they're too busy talking with friends to serve me. But the coffee and treats (donuts!) make it worth it!

“Friendly staff, great coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

I've been here many times and the coffee has always been great. They also have a rich, thick, dark chocolate drink I recommend highly.

You'll be lucky if you get a seat during inclement weather, but in the summer they have ample seating outside, so you'll probably find a seat. Many times I've come during the winter only to have to find somewhere else. If you're just there to take-out, of course this won't be a problem.

“Great coffee and cool vibe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Came for a wander on a quiet winter day having read great things about Myriad. It's a cool little place and the coffee is wonderful - easily the best espresso I've found in Montreal so far.
The price you pay (other than the quite reasonable monetary cost) is that it's easily crowded, so I had to stalk for a couple of minutes before I could swoop on one of the few tables. The terrace in summer would alleviate this somewhat, and would be a great place to sit on a nice day.
That said the bustling vibe, cool music and wonderful coffee combine to make this cafe very easy to recommend.
One other small gripe is that there is no wifi available, which was a disappointment at the time, but not something I regard as a pre-requisit.

“Taste of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

I actually went to this crowded little cafe hoping to try their famous coffee, but when I saw they offer small doses of thick, dark hot chocolate I could not resist. What a great decision. It comes in a tiny cup which is just the right size to fill you up with joy and energy but not over do it. The chocolate is dark with a very rich flavour and not too sweet. It is truly like drinking up a piece of excellent dark chocolate. Being a big fan of dark chocolate I know I will be back for more as there are not a lot of places in this city that serve real chocolate in their chocolate drink.
The place itself is in the heart of Guy-Concordia Univ and therefore filled with young people so it is a bit tricky to find a spot and stay for long. Still, it is worth the try just to get a taste of their dreamy hot chocolate. The staff is working very hard to keep up with demand and they are super friendly.
