My 15 year old daughter and I have just completed a 4 day stay at Manoir Ville-Marie and cannot praise the service too highly. The hotel is located a bit east of the Old City tourist areas, reflected by its very reasonable prices, which include breakfast and free parking. It's conveniently located with regard to the Biodome and Botannical Gardens. While only a five plus minute walk to the Prefontaine metro station, the hotel routinely, and without added charge, drove us to wherever we wanted to start our tour day. Fluent in English and French, the hotel staff was very forthcoming with information concerning well known tourist sites and also created personalized itineraries for matters off the beaten track, per our expressed interests. They also routinely made phone calls on our behalf to confirm reservations. While the immediate neighborhood is unimpressive, it affords observations of how locals live. The hotel maintains its 19th century facade. It's interior has been rennovated and is impecably clean. It's quiet, too. I cannot emphasize enough the personal touches management offered. We arrived late on my daughter's birthday; the next morning the co-ower Shahrzad, entirely on her own initiative, had set a special breakfast and gave my daughter a gift. When Shahrzad and her husband Bernard, a couple days later, had extra tickets to the theater, they gave them to us as a late birthday gift for my daughter - driving us to and from the theater. Rene, who alternates as the on-site manager with Shahrzad, is a wealth of information. If we arose too late for the scheduled breakfast, they nevertheless insured that a brunch was available. In casual conversation with other guests, my impression is that this is the way guests are generally treated. We felt sufficiently warmly and personally received that, at my daughter's suggestion, we bought a going away gift. Real economy and 5 star plus service, this is the place to go.
