My 15 year old daughter and I have just completed a 4 day stay at Manoir Ville-Marie and cannot praise the service too highly. The hotel is located a bit east of the Old City tourist areas, reflected by its very reasonable prices, which include breakfast and free parking. It's conveniently located with regard to the Biodome and Botannical Gardens. While only a five plus minute walk to the Prefontaine metro station, the hotel routinely, and without added charge, drove us to wherever we wanted to start our tour day. Fluent in English and French, the hotel staff was very forthcoming with information concerning well known tourist sites and also created personalized itineraries for matters off the beaten track, per our expressed interests. They also routinely made phone calls on our behalf to confirm reservations. While the immediate neighborhood is unimpressive, it affords observations of how locals live. The hotel maintains its 19th century facade. It's interior has been rennovated and is impecably clean. It's quiet, too. I cannot emphasize enough the personal touches management offered. We arrived late on my daughter's birthday; the next morning the co-ower Shahrzad, entirely on her own initiative, had set a special breakfast and gave my daughter a gift. When Shahrzad and her husband Bernard, a couple days later, had extra tickets to the theater, they gave them to us as a late birthday gift for my daughter - driving us to and from the theater. Rene, who alternates as the on-site manager with Shahrzad, is a wealth of information. If we arose too late for the scheduled breakfast, they nevertheless insured that a brunch was available. In casual conversation with other guests, my impression is that this is the way guests are generally treated. We felt sufficiently warmly and personally received that, at my daughter's suggestion, we bought a going away gift. Real economy and 5 star plus service, this is the place to go.

It was the gay pride weekend and I could not get a room at the other Hotel where I always stayed so a friend of mine found that little Auberge" The hotel is a bit out of the village but I was treated like a king. Rene went out of his way to make my stay confortable One night on his way home he saw me on the street and he turned around to give me a ride back at the hotel, not something that other hotel employee would do.They gave me the room with a whirlpool for less than 150$. I stayed 3 days and I will always go back there. No more TajMahal. Thank you to the owners Elizabeth and her husband and Rene

I found this B&B last minute, when I realized another hotel I booked received terrible reviews on tripadvisor. I realized how lucky I was when I arrived here. This is an old post office converted into a B&B. The innkeepers are very friendly, transportation is very convenient by car, there is free parking available. The inn is very well decorated, relaxes you just to sit in the reception area. There is a patio for common use. The rooms are nicely furnished, again very clean. The neighborhood is very quiet.

We took our 3 kids, ages 8, 16, 13 to Quebec Province for our Easter Spring Break. With a family of 5 we are usually stuck with 2 hotel rooms, so I decided to check out Inns and B&Bs We stayed at Manoir Ville Marie in Montreal. It was original an 1895 Post office, now a freshly decorated "auberge". We could all stay together in a suite, they served continental breakfast, all at VERY reasonable price. The owners speak excellent English along with french and Elizabeth used to be a travel agent, and is more than happy to help with tourist info all over Quebec province, not just Montreal. We stayed in B&B in Nicephore called Gite des Fleurs (half way to Quebec city) Lovely home and very friendly host. And B&B in Quebec City called Abat-Jour, an apartment style older building (not antique) plain decor But Excellent Breakfast! Everything was home made including the yogurt, jams, biscuits, crepes, juice, etc. All of these places were around $150 C for 5 of us with breakfast.
