Forgive the late response, but we just remembered that we had never left a review of this fantastic place. We visited June 22-24, 2005, and wouldn't think of staying anywhere but D&D's.
My wife and I loved the room that we had (the Napolean Room). The breakfasts were impeccable and Dorothy made sure that no one started the day on anything but a full stomach. The subway was a very very easy walk from our location and thanks to D&D, we knew exactly where to go, which stops to take, and what might interest us.
We live on the end of a dead-end street, and street noise was never an issue for us. We probably smoked a bit more outside on the patio than they are used to, but never made us feel unwelcome. I can't say enough about their dedication to their business. Superb.
