5 of us girls stayed at D&D's B&B, but we took the whole place as a "vacation home" instead of individual rooms with breakfast. That being said, we wouldn't have had it any other way!
Our group was there for 5 nights, but I was personally there for 3 nights.
Dorothy gave a great "orientation", and we had free run of the beautiful B&B and kitchen and deck (or favorite spot) and LOVED every room of the house. The deck had a comfy seating area, gorgeous landscaping/flowers, and we even had an herb garden we could use to cook! We said more than once that we felt like we were staying at a friend's parents' vacation home, not an inn (complete with Dorothy reminding us to use the special make-up towels so as not to ruin the white towels, like any Mom would do!). We loved cooking meals in the kitchen, and it was a short walk from the Atwater Market and the Place St-Henri Metro stop. We went downtown every day and night! The convenience to the Metro was key.
As a vacation home, this 4-bedroom, 3-bath walkup is definitely worth a look. We saved money by not booking it B&B style, knowing we would take up the whole place anyways. Each bedroom has individual locks, and the place is very secure with a deadbolt on the main door; D&D live next door, so you always have watchful neighbors as well. We left the bedrooms unlocked since we booked the whole place.
Tip the housekeeper, because the place is immaculate. She made our beds daily even though we were renting it as a vacation home. Just beautiful. The bedrooms with attached baths have showers, but they are very spacious, and the two rooms with the large bathroom upstairs have a huge claw-footed tub, special bath salts, and the bathrobes were brand-new and so soft.
I will warn you that there are steep stairs to go up to the B&B, as well as another set of stairs to the upstairs bedroom. I know that a traveler with difficulty climbing stairs would NOT want to stay here, but for a group of twenty-something girls we LOVED the place!
