“A small and intimate hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

we stayed for three nights in this hotel and we were impressed by the service. It is a small boutique hotel and this was reflected in the service. The staff were always helpful and polite day or night. The decor is a little sombre being all green and cream throughout. The hotel is a converted house so the lifts and corridors are very small. The lobby is bright and fresh and there is courtesy coffee from very early in the morning. (a nice touch) We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and our meal was superb as was the service, fast and discrete. Our room was spacious and bright overlooking a side street. This side street has a convenience store which was good for buying water and drinks. We had a small kitchen with a sink and worktops. The iron and ironing board were kept in here as was the safe which was free of charge. Two queen beds, a TV, armchair and a writing desk were also in the room without it being crowded. the bathroom was spacious and sparkling clean.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the main centre and is uphill on the way back so a cab might help if you have walking difficulties. St Catherine's has lots of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from. There is plenty to see in Montreal and I would advise you to speak to the hotel staff to see what's on in the city. They are very helpful and informative. This is a bi-lingual city and some people can be a little precious about speaking French to you, but we took this as being part of the adventure.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is located in a very nice location. You have access to nearly everything in Down town. Metro is near & so the important streets around. We had a fast checkin, staff were helpfull. Yet the valet parking is expensive for 27 $ which is expensive. Room was spacious for 2 king Queen beds where we stayed

I stayed at Le Meridian Versailles for 4 nights in September. The location of the hotel is great; you can walk down rue St-Mathieu to rue St Catherine where you can find lots of choices for food and shopping. It is also walking distance to Museum, Mont Royal Park, McGill University and Metro station Guy-Concordia. The Hotel feels like a small boutique Hotel. My room was spacious and the bath room shower has good pressure. The room furniture needs some updating especially the bed.

We like staying at Le Merediens. This one is shabbier than most, but the service is superb, the rooms large, and very clean....plus they allow dogs and upgraded us to a nice junior suite with lots of windows. I would definitely stay here again, but look forward to an updated hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room.

We stayed at one of the Junior Suites. It was a corner room with a great view of Montreal. King size bed was very comfortable. Suite was very spacious. Staff was friendly & helpful. There was a fancy restaurant located at the hotel that serves up really good food. Location was nice, we didn't rent a car during this vacation, we just cabbed it. We would go back to this hotel if we were ever back in the city. This hotel definitely made our vacation a romantic & fun one.

I booked this hotel through hotwire.com. I got a basic 2 bed room for $100 taxes in/night and I believe they are normally $140+tax/night. The service is great - they took my bags in, greeted me at the door, and will get you whatever you need. This is my second time staying here and the first time (Jan 2011) they brought us a cork screw because we didn't have one. They do charge extra for internet if you don't book through hotwire, and the menu is a bit pricey. It appeared as though we were the only non-business guests but they did not treat us any differently!! The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel is located fairly close to downtown - just a few blocks away.
