We were wandering Montreal near the Place d'Armes looking for a reasonably priced place to eat.
Cafe Pave fit the bill. We got four combos, which included a drink, a sandwich and a side salad for $10.
They have many options, and it is hard to decide, but in our experience you can't go wrong with any of their fresh gourmet sandwiches.
We got a Quebec (smoked meat), a Genova (chicken and prosciutto), a Tunis (chicken and goat cheese) and a Buenos Aires (steak with chimichurri). The salad was excellent.
All in all, while we were all hungry, we left full but not feeling gross or heavy. Everything tasted extremely fresh and good-quality.
And the service was better than expected - we were a bit lost and the person working there gave us a map and directions, and chatted with us about the city. One of the most friendly experiences during our road trip across eastern Canada.
Merci Cafe Pave!
