“A favorable locale”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This hotel seems just fine in almost all ways. The rooms are clean, roomy and comfortable. The location is not fancy but fairly quiet and very close to the Metro, a farmer's market, cafes and a some small restaurants. The price is reasonable as well.
The only disappointments were the breakfast (meh) and fairly lame wi-fi.
I would be perfectly happy to stay again

I stayed here for four nights and it was really great. Didn't know what to expect but wanted to stay in this area, I enjoy the feel of this part of town. The market is a few steps away, groceries over the road, great cafés and restaurants but not a large variety of shops if that's your thing. Subway and bus very close by too. The corner room I booked was a suite and it was fabulous, with cooking facilities and 2 doubles and a lovely view. Beds very comfortable. Windows that open and quiet. Staff were delightful and very helpful. There is a public piano at the bus stop and people can just stop and play, i loved it. Would definitely go back.

Looking for a place to share with friends for a weekend jaunt to Montreal. This fit the bill just fine - especially split 3 ways. A bit dated, but clean, easy to get to, and friendly, helpful staff. We had 2 double beds in one room, with a fold-out sofa, fridge, micro and tv. Bathroom small, but clean and bright. No problems rustling up extra towels. Metro grocery, Scotia Bank and SAC (liquor store) across the street. Area not much for ambience, but steps to decent Vietnamese, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, and bistro/resto-bar restaurants. Minutes from St Joseph's Oratory (a must-see). Breakfast and supper/dinner available through the attached "Olivers" restaurant. This is not Westmount, so some may appreciate the underground parking. No problem splitting the hotel bill amongst our party. Easy access to major streets and autoroute.

Room Tip: They offer a choice of soaking/non-smoking(?!). Though we chose non-smoking you did not get the smok...

This is the only hotel in that part of town. It is "ok". I feel that at 224$ a night (4 people) plus 15$ parking plus taxes, it is somewhat expensive for the room quality. The bathroom and kitchenette is completely renovated while the rest of the room isn't. I am used to a higher standard in hotel rooms and do not plan to return.

don't be deceived by the look of the outside, inside the room was wonderful! Great air conditioned comfort in this large room over-looking Rue Corte-de-Neiges. Close to bus, metro, and cab stations. Staff very friendly and very happy to help

I stayed here while visiting my son at the University of Montreal, a few minutes drive away. I loved this hotel. It was nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all front desk staff spoke well in both French and English. The kitchenette was updated and well equipped. There is a large grocery store across the street that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So, you can save a lot on not eating out all the time. The bathroom was updated and very clean. The Wi Fi worked well. The suite was large, clean and comfortable. The location is excellent - a couple minutes walk to St. Joseph Oratory and on a street with many shops, restaurants, stores, bakeries, a mall, and close bus/metro stops. There was also convenient underground parking. This is an excellent place to stay if you have a family with children.
