While visiting Old Montreal on April 2nd, we decided to check out Muki, based on previous reviews on Trip Advisor. Much to our disappointment, Muki was closed as it was having its opening day on Friday the 5th of April.
The only reason we knew that it was not open was because we accidentally wandered in as we saw ice cream and other delicious offerings were visible as was a staff person while we looked in the windows.
As we walked in the "staff person", mentioned to us that they were not yet open, they were just testing some of there product and taking pictures of there treats for marketing etc.We apologized and started to walk out when we were asked if we wanted to stay and sample some of the delicious treats.
The "staff person" ended up being the owner, Charles, who was an incredibly nice gentleman who was generous and passionate about his shop. We were treated like family and offered home made waffles, with fresh cut strawberries and home made chocolate sauce. AMAZING!!!!!!!!! We also sampled their homemade ice cream(Gelato), Vanilla was delicious as was the coffee flavor.
Charles explained to us that they would be offering fresh sandwiches this year that would all be served on the homemade waffles, wow, we can only imagine the delight everyone will take on trying these. The shop is beautiful and classy, with a nice mixture between old and new. As we left we asked what we owed and Charles just asked us to have a nice visit in Montreal and come back when we were there again.....such a classy man.
Please try this place out, everything is delicious, Charles is such a wonderful person and it truely brings back old fashioned quality and service which is so tough to find these days.
Charles , thank you so much for opening up your doors to us, we had such a wonderful experience and can't wait to visit you the next time we are back in Montreal!!!!
