“Great beer, relaxed atmosphere, average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Don't come here exclusively for the food, they only serve hamburgers, hot dogs and nacho chips, all very standard and plain. But I love the beers, you can even get a taster's paddle, 6 beers to sample which is always fun. It's only open on days when it isn't raining, consisting of picnic tables and umbrellas scattered around outside. But there is a great vibe, laid-back and fun, with a dj and awesome music. A nice cheap option with friends!

“Great summer vibe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of beers. However no service at the tables, you need to order from the bar. In a way, it gives you more intimacy with your friends and you're not annoyed or pressured to buy more. Located by the Lachine canal bike path. Lock up your bike and order a beer!

“great location - great beer!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

The Terrasse St-Ambroise is part of the McAuslan brewery. I love this place and it's relaxed atmosphere near the Lachine Canal. You can have a beer (I recommend the "Griffon Rousse") or taste a Cider and get something from the barbecue. The food menu is not half as impressive as the beer menu (Hamburger or Hot Dog) but good quality. They also organise live music (folk, blues, jazz and electronic) and other events open-air: fantastic! La Terrasse is open only if its good weather; cash only; check their website: www.mcauslan.com

“A very good stop for beer lovers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

In between our bike ride on Lachine Canal, we stopped for refreshments at Terrasse St-Ambroise, home to an actual brewery (although, we did not take the tour). We sat outside at one of the picnic tables facing the canal. We were excited to order a flight of beers (think wine sampling). Six small (4-5 oz) glasses of St-Ambroise Brewery beers are lined up on a board. The server names them, then we use the tasting notes to help us learn about each one. We began with 2 Griffon Ales - a Pale and a Red, followed by 4 St-Ambroise beers: Cream Ale, Pale Ale, Oatmeal Stout and Apricot. Just as one might sample wines at a winery, tasting beers is informative and a fun way to taste a variety. There is a simple menu from which to order light fare; this is not a fancy restaurant. We will definitely repeat this destination - it's unique and very economical.
