“Scammed!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

Ended up here on a chilly late week day afternoon due to the majority of restaurants in Old Montreal being closed until dinner time. We waited over 10 minutes for the inattentive waitress to greet us, much less take our drink orders. When she did take our drink order, she brought back old fashioned bottles of coke. We noticed the other waitress was asking her customers if they preferred fountain drinks or bottles. We received our food much later than other people who were seated after us. After finishing the mediocre food and deciding to leave a 10% tip for the meager service, and also to get rid of Canadian cash b/c our trip was almost over, the waitress told us we were not permitted to pay in cash and had to use a credit card. She said that is the only way she can get the standard 15% tip. I let her run the card through just to get out of the place but when my husband tried to discuss the issue with a manager, the staff pretended that our waitress was the manager and then the waitress suddenly acted like she could not speak English. It left a horrible impression that staff would take advantage of tourists in such a manner. We should have read the other trip advisor reviews before blowing our money here. Lesson learned.

“The worst food experience of my life”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

By far... the Poutine there is not worth it. Was missing cheese and gravy, small plate, french fries OK - We also ordered the nachos OMG what a terrible encounter, made with corn 'chips' from a bag probably bought at a Supermarket plus they managed to arrived burned AND the food was cold ! The owner seems the be from Europe probably as he spoke french he should know better that BRIE cheese not a good combination with a Mexican dish ! We drank a pitcher of Sangria which was awful. Sorry but we did not ate the Nachos, gulp the Poutine because we were hungry and swallow the Sangria to help the food manage his way down to the stomach.

“Had to try Poutine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

After a two hour walking tour of Old Montreal we were hungry and tired. Our guide suggested if we wanted to try truly local food that we should definitely try Poutine. French fries, with gravy and cheese curd....um...didn't sound so good, but "when in Rome"! It was a beautiful fall day so we sat outside, We were thirsty so the draft beer was perfect. And the Poutine was surprisingly good. The four of us shared an order...perfect for sharing because it is definitely not light and definitely not low calorie. Our server was attentive and the overall experience was great!

“OMG, do not go!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

We were starving so any food would have tasted good. Our last night in Montreal, Sunday night, tired and hungry roaming old Montreal. We wanted to relax and enjoy.
We sat on rickety aluminum chairs with a wobbly table. As we waited and waited for our Sangria I had a feeling we should leave. Should have. The Sangria was
very overpriced ($24, it better be good) and very awful. Old plastic pitcher of ice and (grenadine for colour?) and ... was there even wine in it? The poutine
was by far not even close to what poutine should be. Maybe we picked a bad night? Do not recommend.

“High Hopes but Fell Short”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Ordered the Poutine with Montreal Smoked Meat--it was okay at best. Wished they had put it in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese a little.

Also the service was poor, took a little longer than it should have for a someone to take our order. As well, it was a little overpriced for what you get. Would try another place.
