“Nice neighborhood place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

This is a small and surprisingly pleasant neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The decor and atmosphere are somewhat upscale. The menu is limited but well prepared and tastes very good. I was surprised that rice did not come with the meal, and costs extra (maybe that's a Montreal thing?) BYOB. Nice place to take someone for a private conversation. It has takeout too.

“Fresh flavours and nicely presented dishes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

This is a small restaurant in the heart of Le Plateau in Montreal. White table cloths and napkins grace every table. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Service is pleasant and efficient, in both French and English. Prices are reasonable and servings are adequate. The vegetarian dumplings were good as a starter. Also impressive was the tofu style Szechuan which was served nicely spiced with fresh broccoli, zucchini, and red and green peppers. The general Tao chicken was crispy and flavourful with a slight tang. Rice needs to be ordered separately. The restaurant allows you to bring your own wine and wine glasses are on the table. All in all, a good spot to have dinner without spending a fortune.

“A Hidden gem in the Plateau area of Montreal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

My wife & I had a delightful evening at this charming intimate restaurant! The presentation of the dishes was most artful with every attention to detail including most attentive service. A great value! A hidden gem in the Plateau- a well kept secret! Definitely worth trying!!!

“Huge Dissapointment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

TERRIBLE!!! I honestly don't even know where to start... Firstly, the menu posted outside has inaccurate prices. After placing my order I learned that the food is actually way more expensive than advertised, but I was hungry so I ordered anyways: General Tao & the Fried Spinach for take out. Upon arriving home I was dismayed to see an extremely meagre portion of chicken coated in a thin looking sauce. That's it, the dish did not even come with rice. I held out some hope and tried a piece, it was terrible! The Fried Spinach was literally inedible. And on top of all that, after looking at the bill I realized that I had been overcharged. When I returned to the restaurant with the barely touched meal to ask for a refund, not only was I refused but the woman at the counter was extremely rude! It was quite literally the worst dining experience I have ever had!!!

“Good if you're in the neighbourhood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

While I would not suggest out-of-town visitors trek from downtown to this little restaurant, if you find yourself (a) in the neighbourhood of Park La Fontaine and (b) peckish, then it's certainly worth a visit. The menu ventures nothing too original, but the Asian selections on offer are prepared well, and the servers are friendly and intelligent. A big plus in the summer months is their sidewalk seating under patio umbrellas, perfect for their location on a peaceful, tree-lined residential corner just a block away from the busy intersection of Sherbrooke St and Papineau Ave.
