This was my first trip to Quebec and I was concerned I might have trouble with the French language, but the staff here were friendly and immediately greeted us in English removing any language dramas. The receptionist we had was helpful, and she took time to explain any questions we had, both then and when checking out. The room was good, with the only concern being it was a little dusty, I did get the impression though no one had stayed in our room for some time.
The location suited our needs well, it is right opposite one of the stops that the airport bus stops off at, and about a block from the main street, St Catherines. From there in one direction its about a 10 minute walk to the shops and downtown, in the other there is a similar length walk to the village and its bars and restaurants. The old town is also about a 15 min walk away, so overall a handy central spot if you don't mind a short stroll.

We were given a room on the third floor with a view of the the restaurant's ventilation a floor below. The noise of the running motors could not be heard in the room. The room was average size, comfortable and very clean. The WiFi reception was very good and the 42" flat-screen television had a good selection of programming. The air conditioning unit was a little loud but not necessarily overcoming.

The negative with the room was that the good-sized bathroom. The door needed some adjusting so it would shut properly. The only way we could close the door was to hold down on the handle and pull hard. This was brought to the attention of management. The bathroom could have also used more towel bars. There was a small one on the towel rack positioned over the tub/shower. The light fixture, although centered, could have been better positioned over the mirror to avoid a shadow on one side of the one's face.

The hotel is in renovations. The hallway walls on our floor was freshly plastered and sanded while we were there. I was impressed how clean the hallway rug was even with the work going on. Every effort appears to have been made not to inconvenience guests.

This Day's Inn is within walking distance of many places like Old Montreal, Chinatown and the Village. I'll stay here again when I return to Montreal.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the street otherwise you may get one with the view of the abutting building...

Dear customer,

First of all, thank you for staying at the Days Inn and for writing a review on our hotel. As you stated in your comment, we are currently doing renovations. Our main goal is to do them without disturbing the customers and we are glad they were not an inconvenience for you. We try to work hand in hand with the maintenance department and we appreciate your comment concerning the door in the bathroom because it allows us to let them know and to get it fixed.

We hope to see you next time you come to Montreal.

This hotel is nicely located 2 blocks from St Catherine's street and about 6 blocks from Old Montreal. Good public transportation available by the front door. The hotel is quite dated and needs renewal. The second floor had been renovated and the room was quite nice. Make sure you ask for a renovated room.

I was greeted with unfriendly staff. Then in the room a rubbish bin full of someone else's rubbish. Someone else I met in the lift had chinese food from a previous guest in the fridge.
The stop from the airport is just across the road, so one plus. The hotel isn't really near anything, so a bus or a walk is required. There were no tourist brochures or maps at the hotel, so had to go elsewhere. Once again unfriendly staff, who gave the impression that they just couldn't be bothered.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms on the chart looked super small. Mine overlooked the building next door, so no vi...

Dear client,

The hotel appreciates your comments concerning the way you were greeted at the reception and the rubbish thing from someone else. We are looking in to what happened .
These comments are always appreciated and welcome because it shows that we need to step up to become great.

As for our location, it is a great location to quite a few tourist areas to see within walking distance.
For maps and brochures we always carry them and they are always available to the clients .

Mainly, all our standard rooms are the same size and since we are downtown we are surrounded by buildings. The room you were in shows a building that is close to us.

I liked it for the most part. It's location is great. It was a stones throw away from St Catherines and the bar district. The valet parking was nice. The restaurant on site was convenient and priced fairly considering where we were. The adjoining rooms were great so we didn't have to disturb the other guests as we went back and forth. It is also within walking distance of China town and the subway station.

Room Tip: I liked the rooms that overlooked the Boulevard. The one we had overlooked an office building.
