“what a nice surprise that was”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We went to this hotel after a disastrous night we spent in one of the rental flats in the city center. The room we got was massive with two huge beds, balcony and a lovely big bathroom. The hotel is right next to the downtown area so you can walk for 5 to 10 minutes to get to the great restaurants. It's also a 2 minute walk to the subway. It really was a perfect place to go back after sightseeing Montreal.

Not a good experience here. Be careful and review your bill/room charges carefully. Front desk staff was rude, uncooperative in correcting its own error (booked family of 5 in tiny room with one bed, even though numerous larger rooms available at same price point), and dismissive of our polite requests for a relocation. Also billed for parking and room service that was never used. Too many choices in Montreal to settle for this type of treatment. Look elsewhere.

This is the second year we have traveled to Montreal for the wonderful Jazz Fest. The Delta is walking distance to the Festival. After a long day of music, we love to hand out in the hotel's salt water indoor pool.
Happy Hour at the bar was inexpensive martinis ...very good.
This year our rooms was very small. All the rooms have been upgraded to "business class".
Great desk with built in computer plugs. Our room this year was in the back of the hotel. View from the outdoor balcony was still interesting.
Our A.C. was very loud. We loved their luscious white bathrooms. This year we had to ask for them. They did get delivered to our room. They were pretty old and no longer luscious. Our room had only one chair (not including the desk chair). No couch. Could use a second comfy chair.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 days with my husband and little toddler. The staffs were very accommodating, the rooms are classy and very clean. The food at the restaurant was too pricey for the quality, but it's no big deal since there are nearby eateries. What i liked most was the exceptional service. The staffs are so friendly, even to my little kid. We needed more cleaning for our room on our second day so we called for somebody to do it. It took a while before somebody came in, so we followed up at the lobby. They were very apologetic, and it's all i need. I see that this hotel is very busy, all staffs are busy doing their thing to deliver good results, so i guess that justifies the little delays. And the lady who did the cleaning was awesome! She did a very good job in our room, she even arranged my son's feeding bottles, and diapers. So with the wonderful experience we had at this hotel, we are definitely staying here again on our next montreal visit.

I hadn't stayed at this hotel for over 6 years or so. I had been told that the hotel had recently undergone a much-needed facelift & i was skeptic. However, upon arrival at the hotel, i was pleasantly surprised at how much the hotel had changed since i had last been there.

I was overwhelmed upon entrance in my room at how well-done the renovations had been made. Everything in my room was new: carpeting, bed, desk, hd tv, etc. I actually regretted not having booked there for a longer time!

The hotel was close to shopping, restaurants & events (e.g. Jazz Festival was a couple of blocks away). There was a subway station located a block away. There was also a liquor store (SAQ) very close by. The reception staff were friendly & very helpful.

The only negative was that i was given a corner room, which meant that my room was somewhat small as compared to non-corner rooms. The next time i'll stay there (and there will be a next time), i will ask for a non-corner room. A friend of mine stayed there a few days later & did request a non-corner room, which was granted to him. His room was considerably larger than mine.

Another negative was that i didn't have a mini fridge in my room, which i had grown accustomed to at other renovated hotels in the MTL area. Of course, there were ice machines on every floor, but its not always convenient if i need to use the sink when there is ice in it.

All in all, i was very happy to stay at the Delta Montreal & plan to stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: Avoid the corner rooms if you do not like smaller rooms.

Stayed at the Delta Montreal for 6 nights during a leisure trip to Montreal toward the end of June. We found the location to be an excellent access point to anywhere in the city, especially considering the city's well-conceived Metro system.

Front desk staff were very friendly and accomodating, if not exceptionally so. We had booked a Deluxe room but, upon a recommendation at check-in, upgraded to a Club Room. Continental breaskfast, complimentary evening appetizers, and reduced drink pricing/offers were available in a private lounge.

Recently renovated rooms, from the Deluxe room to the upgrade to the Club room, were lovely. Unfortunately, in the Club room, we noticed a foul smell on the duvet and called to have it replaced. Rather than re-making the bed, it was dropped off to our door and we were asked to take the current one off of the bed and to bright it out to the man at the door. After an evening of sightseeing, I was left to make up our hotel bed myself.

Less notable downsides to our stay were that in-room, pay movies were not available (a peculiarity for a chain hotel, we thought). Another was the double billing for the room upgrade- this, however, was immediately resolved without issue.

Dear guest,

Many thanks for reviewing our property on TripAdvisor.com. We are happy to know our property location were to your liking. Therefore we are quite distracted to read our Club Floor Lounge didn’t meet your need. We will duly review your comments with our Housekeeping Manager.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we are looking forward to have the privilege of hosting you on your future visit to Montreal.

Sincerly,

We booked the hotel because everywhere else was full and boy were we surprised. It has been completely renovated and our stay was great The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the bathroom very large. The location was convenient to shopping, dining and the old city. It is also only a block away from the area the music festivals are held. The House of Jazz is one half block away. We were only a few blocks from Mount Royal. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We really like Montreal and will stay here whenever we visit the city.

Room Tip: You can pretty much choose your view, city, river or Mount Royal, so if it matters let them know whe...
