Stayed 3 nights here in October. I got a small renovated room facing Mansfield and overlooking McGill and Mont Royal. The view was a real bonus, cos I studied at McGill some years ago and Mont Royal was my best friend. The in-room amenities were OK and what you would expect from a business hotel. But I really had to make a point about the duvet. Mine only had a few lumps of feather at the four corners; the rest was just duvet cover., i.e two thin sheets of cotton. It was hardly warm enough! Housekeeping brought me another duvet, which had exactly the same problem. It was quite an eye-opening experience. I used a woolen blanket in the end. That aside, the hotel has an unbeatable location, on top of Via Canada, next to Bonaventure Metro, walking distance to downtown, Old Montreal, Airport 747 bus stops right in front of hotel. Nearby supermakert is in Complex des Jardins. No free wi-fi with the Fairmont chain. Don't ever think of paying for it. You will get free wi-fi easily around town in cates and restaurants. No need to pay for expensive breakfast either. Ben and Florentine is a minute away. There are lots of choices at good prices, with nice decor and strong wifi. Many locals go there--Must be good!
