“Our stay during Roger's Cup tennis tournament”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

You can't go wrong staying here. Rooms are very nice. Check-in was a little late but within a reasonable time parameter and gave us time to do lunch. Concierges are incredibly helpful and knowledgable
Transportation to and from tournament very timely.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of church. Beautiful

This should have been an "average" rating because, of course, Queen Elizabeth is luxurious and fancy, but the room are small and anenities not above and beyond your wildest dream. You feel the name itself is quality garantee. And yet, your stay is okay, nice, but for the price you can get more bang for your bucks, even in this prime location.

Reception is very pleasant and efficient. Room is small but clean and with great view. We had a wounderful cathedral view. Furnitures are of good quality and taste. Bed very comfy and soft. Wifi is too slow to use, I had to go to my 3G. Bathroom is old (original maybe?!!) and is showing its age.

But on my stay, they score a "poor" rating because the maid found it was okay to get into my bedroom at 8h30 in the morning. I had a long professionnal night the night before, my husband had left to work so the chain wasn't on. And I forgot to put the paper "do not disturb" outside my door. But still, my invoice and paper were putside my bedroom door. I wanted the treat myself to a long morning in bed after the gala night of yesterday. When the maid got in my bedroom, I was in no way dress to have company... I was appaled! OMG never happened to me!!

I did not appreciate. Let's say my morning in bed was over. When I let the hotel know about this, they were sorry about my bad experience but said I had to understand rooms had to be clean, even before checkout time. Oh! Here I thought I rented a room...my mistake.

For the price, I wont be treating me to this kind of experience anymore.

We stayed in this hotel in May when we visit Montreal for 2 days. We arrived around 2am in the morning after a long drive. The hotel staff quickly check us in. We lived in a junior suite. Sofa can be turned into a sofabed. There is a pocket door separate bedroom and living room. Total space is very small, and cramp, not much larger than a regular hotel room. The swimming pool is very small, compared with the hotel size. The water is not clear, due to too many people using it. With too many people trying to enjoy the pool, you feel like it is a bathtub to get cool, not really swimming at all. You can get a fruit on your way back to hotel room. You can make reservation to use the BMW bike from the hotel for 2 hours. Bikes are old, but still runs well. Helmet included. There is only one child bike. Location is good, near the train station. Walk to St Catherine st. We biked to the pier and waterfront. We ate a late lunch/dinner at the hotel restaurant. It is expensive, for sure, the dish is not particular tasty. For that money, you'd better find nicer restaurant in Montreal. The hotel has old charm, like many Fairmont properties. However, it shows its age and looks tired. for same amount of money, you get better value, amenities, and comfort in modern hotels.

I've been a few times to this hotel (engagement, Montreal convention, leasure & shopping ...) and I am never disappointed. This is a great Fairmont Hotel that makes you feel like a million bucks ! The staff is always friendly and helpful, the location is centered near great shopping and the underground access to shops, convention center and the train station can't be beat !
Rooms usually pretty and updated. Bathrooms are a little small but have a nice old luxurious feel to them. Suites will give you more space and luxury. All-in-all, you won't regret it !

The Fairmont is located in a very central area to explore all of Montreal either by foot or Metro. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and well appointed. The towels and sheets are of good quality.
The staff is efficient and very accommodating.

Just spent 2 nights in this centrally located Montreal hotel. Our room was always clean, but with two double beds, quite cramped with a small bathroom. If size is important to you choose a room on the executive floor. Service at the front desk, restaurants was outstanding with big prices but very good food. To save money, go to the food fare and gourmet shops under the hotel next to the VIA rail train station, where we conveniently caught the train to Quebec City, a very pleasant and comfy ride in Economy that felt like First Class!!

I would stay here again but in a KING room which would be more spacious without those two beds.

Room Tip: Ask for a KING room rather than two doubles.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Stayed in this hotel in July at the start of our road trip around North America. We were very jetlagged when we arrived having travelled for around 20 hours and could not wait to get to the hotel. There are a few ways to travel to the hotel (train station underneath the hotel and bus stop beside the hotel) but it was late Sunday evening and with 4 suitcases we decided we'd just get a taxi from the airport. The journey cost us $45-50.

The hotel itself is fantastically located, within walking distance to everything we wanted to do and see during our stay and is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful during check in and gave us a lot of tips and ideas for activities to fill the days. The room was very spacious and just perfect after a long journey. The 2 double beds were big and extremely comfortable. The room was both clean and tidy every day. There was plenty of space for our suitcases and clothes and general mess that comes with living out of a suitcase and the beds were situated so that you looked out the window from bed which was stunning both in the mornings at sunrise and at night with the city all lit up.

I don't know about anyone else but when we check into a hotel one of the first things we look for is wifi as we are so far from home we like to keep in touch. There was free wifi in the lobby which had plenty of comfortable seats to relax and water machine. We did ask about wifi in the room and were told that although it wasn't free we could sign up to Fairmont membership free of cost and receive wifi in the room (also free). The second day when we returned to our room there was a card addressed to myself and a plate of sweets and chocolate for us.

Great location for rail and walking. Can be to the old town in about 15 minutes via Notre Dame. The port is lovely and easy to spend a few hours there with good bars and shops. Also the other direction very close to the main shopping street with great shops and Mont Royal with spectacular views of the city.

Language wise the staff were very useful and quick to serve in either official language. Lot of history within the hotel including the suite where John Lennon and Yoko did their bed protest with the room marked with a placard.

If I came back to Montreal I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
