“Convenient location”

QueenE is conveniently located above train, Metro and the underground mall and is within 15-20 mins walking distance to Old Montreal and McGill University. Concierge were helpful and restaurant staff were courtesy. Fitness center is large. The lobby and common areas are up to the standard of what you expect from a 4-star downtown hotel. Rooms are a bit small but that is what you expect from downtown and rooms are general in good conditions. The only problem I had was the color-faded old toilet seat, which looked really really old! Toilet seat only costs $20. I totally understand that Fairmont cannot change the room sizes and the view, but for all the fixtures, you really need to keep up to a Fairmont standard. The flat screen TV has no hi-def programming, only blurry SD, which needs to be improved to match a luxury hotel brand. For others who complain about no free wifi, just sign up for the President Club. It is free.

Dear dkkam - Thank you for sharing some great feedback further to your recent visit in June. We're glad you enjoyed your overall stay. However we understand there are a few issues to address to make your stay even more enjoyable. We recently upgraded all of our televisions with larger flat screen models and we're currently working with our cable provider to enable a higher definition programming in our 1,037 rooms. We just stayed at the QE on our way home from Qc City. The location of this Hotel is ideal. We took the toddlers to Old MTL on the bus & subway( to experience each one) and it was very close by! The hotel itself is a classic. The staff were very helpful & friendly.

We ate at Jardins Nelson in old MTL. It had a spectacular garden patio in the back! We walked to Cora for breakfast & I was able to shop at Anthropologie just up the street. I would return here again!

Ive stayed here a number of times attending meetings at the ICAO headquarters which is a 5 minute walk. Located above the subway and a fantastic food court it is excellently located.

The service is very good and I recommend joining the Presidents Club for a few added extras.

The rooms are well appointed and spacious. The breakfast is great although Ive never dined in the restaurant as it is a little pricey and there are so many fantastic restaurants close by.

This hotel is very very well priced and represents excellent value.

This hotel was "the cat's meow" in 1983, when I first went there. It did set the standard to measure quality. Today it is a sad reminder of how much it lost that special touch. Unless you eat at the Beaver... you got to eat outside of the hotel. The employees are always very nice, and one did admit, and tell me how much they have lost "prestige" in the Hospitality business - I did appreciate the honesty. The hotel seems to be mis-managed, and they have missed on the potential it has. Just take a look at their winellist and you will see that they are simply overhyped as a hotel, just a shadow of the past, the great past... I can not recommend this "convention" hotel, as it is not personal anymore, but bland bulk

Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is the place to stay in Montreal. Rooms are comfortable and usually ready upon arrival. My travel group arrived from NY at about 9:00 am, and had no problem being accommodated with an early arrival. Concierge and bellman were friendly and helpful with luggage and information about shopping and sightseeing. With shops just underground, we had a lot to do while waiting out the rain. I have stayed here before and always enjoy the experience.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 17th floor and looked out on the Blvd Rene Levesque. Very quiet.

This is a luxury hotel with service to match. Our check in with Steven went smoothly and he gave us a room on the 8th floor with a view of Mont Royal.

Yes, the room is small and a little tight, but we were on vacation and only used it for sleeping and freshening up. The bed was wonderful and I had my best nights of sleep in a long time. I’ve been meaning to email the hotel to see what brand of mattress and pillows they use. Superb. The bathroom was also small but well designed to maximize space and it never felt crowded.

The concierge was full of helpful tips on dining out and answered questions about tours. Front desk requests, like a call for extra towels, were responded to immediately. And at check-in, after inquiring about wifi, we were told it was free if we joined the President’s Club, which is free itself. Done, although internet service turned out to be weak. There’s a dedicated employee at the front desk for the President’s Club which will allow you to bypass long check-in/check-out lines, which we observed on several occasions. One other nice perk is that the hotel provides free bicycles to guests. And natch, priority is given to President’s Club members.

I rarely partake of on-site restaurants at a hotel because of the high prices so can’t comment on those at the Queen Elizabeth. However, the Place de Ville is directly underneath the hotel and there’s even an elevator from the lobby that takes you directly to that level. Numerous coffee shops and patisseries offer up good value and are just steps away. Saint Cinnamon’s was a favorite.

The downtown location is terrific with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby, including all those shops underground. Plus, there’s easy access to the orange and green subway lines from the hotel lobby, so you’re just minutes away from getting anywhere in the city.

We loved the hotel, the service and location and you will too.

This hotel is in a great location, easy for the Metro and the main areas are easily accessible on foot. The hotel is part, in fact the original part, of the underground town so would be ideal in the winter.
The room was just large enough with a small bathroom. All furnished well BUT the walls might well have not been there given the noise from the neighbouring room - the man only spoke but we could hear him continuously talking to his partner! Thank goodness he didn't use the tv.
The wifi was listed at about £10 per day - do not pay this exorbitant amount. Just join the Fairmont Presidents Club (free) and the wifi is complementary.
