We booked this hotel through Bookings.com which might have been our mistake. We needed - and thought we had booked - a double room, but were put in a studio apartment which was unnecessarily large for us, with three beds, was very old, with broken blinds and a heater that didn't work (and in -9 degree C temps, that was a large problem!). The studio apartments are accessible only through a door on the side street and when we wanted help getting the heating and wifi working, the staff were unable/unwilling to come to the room to assist.
Given these issues, we complained and were moved to a superior room for the duration of our two night stay -- and the superior room was excellent! A lovely remodeled and nicely decorated room (like the ones you see on the website), with a nice bathroom. The only problem was the tiny shower with a non-moveable shower head, set at an awkward angle.
Once we were moved into the superior room (which we wouldn't have otherwise paid for), we had a lovely stay.
The hotel is in an excellent location in the middle of everything in Downtown Montreal.
