An adequate hotel near to a subway station which was very convenient for sightseeing.
The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious.
The breakfast was rather poor and the toaster an impossibility!
The staff were pleasant.

I've stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton in downtown Motreal 3-4 times over the past four years and I must say, it looks like Sheraton is not putting much money into maintaing the building. It's a pretty typical business-style international hotel, so you know what you're going to get in terms of services and rooms. But the place is starting to show some wear and tear. In my case, the air conditioning failed twice in two days, and the actual air conditioner itself in the room was dented, with broken parts hanging off, scratched paint, etc. The bathroom was the same ... cracks and stains and a shower that only half worked. It certainly no longer feels like a four-star hotel. Also, my daughter booked a room on-line and ended up with a smoking room which stank beyond belief. There was no indication in the on-line booking that it would be a smoking room and the hotel was fully booked, so she just had to live with it. That was really unpleasant. But otherwise the service was fine, the people friendly and helpful, and of course the location is perfect for visiting McGill University or otherwise sight-seeing in this beuatiuful city.

Definitely not up to par with some of the better hotels in Montreal. The bathrooms are so tiny and in desperate need of updating. Room was very clean upon arrival, but bathroom was another story. Hair all over the bathtub and floor of the bathroom and the tub did not drain very well at all meaning you're left standing in an inch or two of water and suds at the end of your shower. The first morning it took over half an hour for a request for an extra set of towels to arrive... second morning housekeeping left the extra towels for us which was much appreciated. Unfortunately though, after the first night, housekeeping took away our non-slip mat for the bathtub and never gave it back for our entire stay... not too sure why though.
The pillows were plentiful and firm so we were happy about that and WiFi was excellent the first night, then down for maintenance the following day and night. Seemed like the concierge doubled as the valet during our stay (don't know if it's a regular thing) and we ended up almost missing our dinner reservations that the concierge/valet himself had made for us an hour earlier because it took so long for the vehicle to be brought out front. The hotel should really invest in more valets.
Non-smoking floor stank of smoke, but thankfully there was no odor in the rooms themselves. Tim Hortons within walking distance and underground shopping and all are within walking distance so location is great. Can't really rely on the advice of some of the front desk staff as one lady who made us a reservation at a restaurant told us it was only a 5 minute walk to the restaurant and upon leaving and asking front desk for a map, another woman told us it was a 45 - 1 hour walk so we missed that altogether.
All in all, an okay experience, but EXTREMELY disappointing for a Sheraton. We'll just stick with our favorite Square Phillips from now on!

Stayed at the Four Points for a weekend in March. Overall, enjoyed the stay - and for the price ($99) I can't really complain.
Good things: Excellent, cheeful, friendly staff - the check-in was the most welcoming I've had at a hotel in a long time. They offered to upgrade us to a suite (I'm SPG Preferred Plus) however we needed two beds so we declined - but I've never been offered before, so that was a nice touch. Beds were good, the Four Comfort Bed is not quite as good as the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper but better than the average hotel bed. Also, I have to mention that an e-mail to the hotel about cheap parking was replied to by the hotel GM who said I could park on the weekend at the Loto-Quebec lot for $5. I thought that was a quality thing to do - I know that a lot of hotels that would not have mentioned parking cheaper than their own.
Bad things: Overall, the hotel, despite being renovated, felt a little dingy. The windows aren't very soundproof and were very dirty, the bathrooms are just average, and our smoking room (always a bad move) really reeked of smoke. Don't get me wrong, the room was furnished reasonably well and was comfortable, it just wasn't a place I wanted to spend too much time in. Also, I had to remind the front desk twice to remove the parking charge since we didn't use their parking - both times they cheerfully took care of it but I should not have had to ask even once.
So, a good stay, if you get it nice and cheap you should be happy - just be aware that there are obviously better hotels in Montreal, so don't expect Sheraton or Hilton chain quality.

I would like to say thank to the attendant named JOSE LUIS, because he was so kindly.
He recommended a portuguese restaurant(ETOILE D'OCEAN) to me and my family and we enjoyed a lot and the food was wonderful.
Thank you so much JOSÉ LUIS!!
