When I found this boutique hotel online before we left for Canada, it was job done... This was the hotel for me, and as for a similar price to other hotel's in the area, this hotel stood out from the rest. We arrived by hire car and we pe-booked valet parking at the hotel before we left for Canada. After a couple of circles around the hotel, not really sure where to park, I noticed a small white sign indicating where to park, and was then greeted by a member of staff who removed our cases from our car. If you book valet parking, on your arrival, locate the main entrance to the hotel, and to the side street, is where you drop your car off which is on the road. There are one or two signs but they don't jump out at you, so you can easily miss them... And ignore the car park next to the hotel.
Check-in was quick, and our luggage was taken to our room. As mentioned by other guests, your keycard is for your level so when entering the lift to go up to your floor, scan your card and then press your floor number. Our room was a 'classic room' and for a hotel bedroom, we thought it was so beautiful, stylish decoration with high quality furniture, fixtures and fittings. We had free high-speed wifi in our bedroom which was fantastic - at last a hotel which allows you to have it your bedroom and for free... Excellent touch! There was a well stocked mini bar, a selection of nibbles and a small bottle of red wine ready with glasses, cork crew etc all for a fee however, complimentary in our room was two bottles of water and good quality coffee pods for the coffee machine. In the evenings, we had a turn down service, our bottled water if used would be replaced as well as the coffee, milk & cream pots finished with chocolate placed on our bed.
The bed's were fantastic and I loved the pillows, again you could feel the quality in everything from the furniture to the linen. The bathroom was very sweet, quaint light's, marble his'n'her's sinks with plenty of chunky white towels not forgetting the bathrobes. We didn't eat in the hotel, we ate out but reading the menu, the food on offer sounded very nice, and the restaurant looked stylish and cosy. Next to reception is a vending machine area tucked away and there's many things on offer plus a complimentary hot drinks machine, which if you like hot chocolate, you must then try the swiss hot chocolate, it's delicious. The pool is area is small but it fit's in with the size of the hotel, and I can imagine in summer with plants around the pool that its a nice city retreat. If your wanting to eat out try The Keg, our second visit to this chain whilst in Canada, fantastic every time and about a 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel.
We highly recommend this hotel, if only other hotel's would use their method and put more style and thought into their design and offerings. A lovely and cosy hotel in a fantastic location, perfect for a romantic break, business or sight seeing.
