“The best views of Montreal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Mont Royal dominates the city. Montreal is one of those rare cities that gives you such diverse views of the skyline. You can cross over the bridge to Saint Helen's Island for a view from the water front. Mont Royal lets you look at the city from the back side. Both views are excellent. We walked up Peel street to one of the paths that take you to the top. It takes about half hour if you hike briskly. It's a good hike. Along the way you will find people more physically fit than you running up and down the paths. From the top the view of the city is rewarding. If you have time there are gardens and walking paths that you can enjoy.

“Beautiful Getaway in the City Centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

We spent a couple hours strolling in the park on a Sunday and were impressed with the beauty and organization i.e. maps, directional signs were plentiful to keep you on track. The park was very busy with families, runners, cyclists, etc. but it didn't feel at all crowded.

The veiw from the top of Mont Royal is wonderful and well worth the walk. The path to the top of the mont is very easy to navigate as it winds around and does not have any major inclines

“Spectacular must see during Fall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Mont Royal was one of my favorite activities. We were able to take a bus all the way to the Maison Smith building (visitor center), where we acquired a map of the park. From there, it was a 10 minute easy walk to the Chalet du Mont Royal, which overlooked the city. We continued our walk to La Croix, a 100 foot steel cross that at first glance, appeared to be a radio tower. The paved walkway and network of trails are very beautiful, especially during the fall season when the colors are spectacular. If you wish to take a bus back down from the summit, you can take an easy trail down to the Belvedere Lookout and pick up a bus from there. Or you can take a leisurely walk down to the base of Mont-Royal. The network of trails branch off in various directions and include picturesque scenes of wooden bridges, small streams, and rock formations. Just follow the sounds of the street traffic and you won't get lost. If you do need directions, the park is filled with friendly locals who are more than happy to offer help. The experience was very relaxing and delightful. It's a very pleasant respite from the city noise and congestion.
