Auberge Bonaparte was built in a historic building only a dozen or so years ago, adjoining a gourmet French restaurant whose reputation as one of the best in Montreal is well-earned. Personal service at its most remarkable is the hallmark of the hotel: custom-served breakfast at 5:30 am, before breakfast hours in the restaurant, to accommodate the early flight and treated as an included breakfast; front desk staff running outside to unload and then reload the car; consistent personal service from everyone on staff; quite remarkable. And especially remarkable because the hotel rooms are spacious, spanking fresh and spotless with every luxury amenity, and the hotel is right at the location in the Old City that is most convenient to the New Montreal. The room prices are moderately priced and a great value. So, for travelers who are accustomed to five-star hotels but are thrilled to discover the boutique hotel that offers all the amenities of the five-star -- and then a high level of personal service -- Auberge Bonaparte is a discovery. We started a month touring Eastern Canada in the Auberge, returning at the end of the trip before our flight to San Francisco. Recommended enthusiastically. P.S. If you stay at the Auberge, don't miss the restaurant experience there.
