“Good Hotel in a Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

I am glad our Corporate minions chose this hotel for our employees' stays when in Montreal as I am here 2-3 times per year. Although the rooms are getting a little dated and the tubs could use a full re-fresh, they are none the less always clean with comfy beds. WI-Fi and wired connections available in the room along with a safe and minibar fridge. The recent lobby refresh spruced up this area and an updated menu and restaurant facility was appreciated as well. Rates are good for such a great location - steps to the Bell Centre and a plethora of superb local restaurants. I am pleased enough with this hotel that I stay here when on Montreal on personal visits as well. Recommended.

Room Tip: If you want quiet ask for a room on the back side, if you want to see the street views ask for a roo...

The Novotel Montreal Center provided us with an ideal location to explore the surrounding area of Montreal with two Metro station just a short walk away where we could easily reach the Old Port area, the Arts and Entertainment area and the underground city area.
The staff were friendly and helpful in providing maps and directions to city features. The room was comfortable and adequately provisioned. The restaurant provided a good range of fresh food and opened early for breakfast.

Checking out from Quality Inn just one bloc away into this is a good decision. Some has said over-priced but I paid not much more than Quality Inn (prepaid) and although here I do not have free breakfast this hotel is in a much better condition, similar to the Sheraton nearby. It is clean and comfortable, with coffee makers etc which are disappearing from many North American hotels, and free internet in the room. Worth to be marked down as a Montreal address.

Room Tip: Had a back street facing room which also because of good insulation is quiet for a good night's...

The only thing I liked about this hotel is the location. What you see on the website is not quite you get. The room long overdue for a make-over. Furniture and especially the carpet are not presentable not to mention the towels all different but clean (thank goodness). We spoke with 3 different people at the front desk, only one gentleman was helpful. The quality of the room was that of a low budget hotel. Definitely overpriced!

We came to Montreal with our dog, and we all enjoyed staying here. We had to stay in the room with him, but that didn't end up being a problem, as their room service menu was excellent. The breakfast in particular was really delicious.

Our room was large with a great view, and the bathroom was clean and spacious. I'm a bathtub snob, and this one was completely up to my standards. The minibar was, as is their wont, a little overpriced, but the selection was great.

We kept our car in the garage without consequence, and we were within short driving distance of many places in the city.

Fantastic! A great value for downtown Montreal. Walking distance to Bell Centre, great dining and shopping. Comfortable and modern room. Outstanding service. A great place to stay for a getaway weekend.

Booked this hotel six months in advance because of a family wedding that was planned on the long weekend in May. Had two rooms reserved, one for my husband and myself and one for my elderly mother. We asked for the rooms to be near each other. We arrived on Friday. Our room on the second floor was adequate. First impression was to see the carpets which are tired and bunched up. TV is small flatscreen. Toilet amenities are limited. My mother arrived on Saturday. They placed her on the 8th floor. We complained about the lack of proximity, but at that time they said they could not guarantee a room that would be close to ours. That was the first time that we were told that her room could not be near ours. I really felt they made absolutely no effort to accommodate the request. My neice who booked in one hour prior to my mother got a room near us on the second floor. The hotel is well situated near the downtown core and especially near the Bell Center. Overall, hotel is adequate, but customer service is lacking.
