“Very nice Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Very impressive museum especially the film at the beginning of the visit. Has to be one of the best films I have seen at any museum. Gives you a nice history of the city. The Beatles exhibit is worth the price of entry.

“First rate experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

This museum is very well done. The opening movie acquainted us with what was expanded on in the crypt. Built right on the site of the origins of Montreal, the exhibits and archeological ruins paint a fascinating picture. The tower provides a very nice view of the harbor. The special Beatles exhibit was a lot of fun.

“Really interesting and unique museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

The introductory movie about the history of Montreal was fascinating, as were all the archeological artifacts and ruins. We spent about an hour there and also visited the temporary Beatles exhibition. It is a very unique museum in that it's situated at the heart of Montreal's settlement, and you learn a lot about the city's history in your time there. The interactive exhibits keep it interesting and would be great for kids. Highly recommend.

“Lots of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

We enjoyed the great 30 minute history movie (a must) and the 1-hr history tour during our visit. You need an additional 1/2 hr to 1 hrs to go through the rest of the museum after the tour and then across the street to the Beatles exhibit. The tour was very informative and enjoyable with Christian our tour guide.

“Archeology, History of Montreal and the Beatles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Kind of an odd combination, but you get it all at the city museum. Be sure to see the 30 minute film on the history of Montreal. Covers everything. Go up the tour to the observation platform for a great view of the port. Take the time to really mosey through the underground part and read all the descriptions. It will take about 1 hour. The Beatles exhibit was just the right amount.
