“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

The video opening gave a great introduction about the history of Montreal. I went to see their exhibition (Samurai) and was impressed. The location is basically an archaeology site - very impressed by that.

“Excellent, thought-provoking exhibits about Montreal's history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

My wife & I toured the museum the afternoon of 10/18. We had a wonderful, thought-provoking visit that helped us understand Montreal's fascinating history.

We began with the well-done, historical, documentary movie over-view that was quite entertaining. We then proceeded through the archeological exhibits downstairs. Although they are a bit bewildering in their layout, the exhibits have lots & lots of interesting details, including interactive features on illuminated "story-boards." Be sure to leave lots of time for these (1-2 hours).

Unfortunately, we spent so much time on the Montreal exhibits that we had little time to tour the excellent Samurai exhibit......

If you are interested in Montreal as a city, be sure to visit this museam.

“Informative and Well-done”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This is an ingenious way to showcase the history of the area. The AV presentation is very well done. The displays are very informative and easy to take in (not an overwhelming amount of information). Might be over the heads of younger travelers, but I think my 10 & 12 year olds would find it interesting.

“Interesting Archaeology”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Fun and interesting museum with great information on the beginnings of Montreal using various technologies. Had a wonderful temporary exhibit on Sumari outfits and gear. Great for children of school age.

“History in place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Movie about Montreal was interesting but the rest OK . Nice exposition about Samurais (not the first I've seen) . They are doing a lot of renovations and still I think the price was high for what you get
