Montreal, North America's truly International City with a unique blend of diverse cultures and St. Catherine Street is your thoroughfare to fabulous restaurants, bistro's and boutiques. From the center of downtown (McGill College and St. Catherine St) you can enter the underground shopping plaza of Place Ville Marie and above is a spacious outdoor terrace. As you walk along St. Catherine Street (westward) pay attention to the side-streets like Crescent St., where the Grand Prix festivities are celebrated with a variety of outdoor terraces for people watching, dining or cocktails. The legendary Thursday's bistro/bar&club is a must visit to experience the 'joie de vivre' ambiance that is the signature of Montreal. Just off of St Catherine st. is the Bell Center to watch a hockey game or see one of many concerts that come to Montreal all year round, most hotels will arrange tickets for you. Going eastward and visit Cathedrals, Art Galleries, Philips Square, Place des Arts for concerts, ballet, symphonies as well as international festivals, many stand-up comedy clubs for everyone's sense of humor, all night disco to dance the night away, check local entertainment paper. The city is clean and a police presence is evident - so feel free to walk, dine or have a coffee on St. Catherine Street at any hour of the day or night.
