“Hustle and bustle of down-town Montreal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

If you like more action, more people, shopping, traffic, then go on this street. Depending of the time of the day and which day of the week, you'll see more or less people, but you'll always see people on this street. It's always busy I find. I personally like the quiet and peaceful so I avoid it now, but there was a time when I was younger and fascinated by the action on this street. If you don't like to be among the passersby, but you just want to watch, then go into a cafe on this street and sit near a window where you can just look at people walk by you.

“The place to shop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Not like it used to be way back but still full of action and the place to shop for sure. Just about every commercial chain that you can think of . Always full of people (makes you wonder if anybody works in this town as it is full at any hour). Good for people watching and just walking around Best between the Ogilvy store and The Bay. Limited food selection other than fast food. For this you go on the side streets especially west of Peel.

“Lots to do...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

So many shopping choices (above ground AND underground). Lots of great restaurants, great shops, terrific people watching. Theatres, pubs, restaurants, movies, metro, all the conveniences. Big city living at its best.

“Shopping, shopping, shopping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

You can not go to Montreal without going on St Catherine street, shopping galore!!!! full of all kinds of restaurant and underground shopping. Thats what I love about montreal, if it's crapy outside you don't need to go out. You have the "metro" and just go underground, you'll find shopping, restaurants and it connexts with some hotel like the Queen Eliszabeth
