“Ugh!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

This was a huge letdown! It was included in our package and my son was excited to go. The insectarium consists of a large open style room with mostly a lot of reading about bugs and their life cycle. There are a few exhibits of actual different bugs in them. This is not really geared for young children. It lacks displays, interactive media and live bugs. It looks old and rundown and dirty. Yes there was lots of information....but you have to read it all....and it goes on and on. Interesting and factual but not for children. Accessing this building was not easy. Nowhere in advance did I read that there was construction and routes had detours. Our path consisted of deep puddles and ice/snow covered walkways up a steepish hill. At one point we weren't sure if we were going the right way. Had never been here before, there was no one obviously visible to ask and the signage was poor. We needed up with very wet and cold feet. I would not return here, recommend it or pay an actual fee to just see this exhibit.

“Bugs!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014 via mobile

Beatles, butterflies, ants... pretty cool. Watching a leaf cutter any in action was a highlight. A bit pricey on its own, but as part of the botanical gardens, well worth the time.

“insects!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

The Montreal Insectarium brilliantly combines science and entertainment. My favorites are the spiders! I take all my visitors there. It is not too big, a couple of hours will do.

“Surprisingly cool place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014

We went in this place because it went with a visit to the Botanical Gardens. It is really quite interesting. I never knew about all the crazy weird bugs in the world. It made me glad to live in NH.

“It was different”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Amazing place, very different as for me. It will take you around 20-30 min to look at all species. You will love it if you are into bugs. And you will have a very different experience, if you never seen so many insects in your life before (like me).
