“10 out of 10, perfection.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

Hotel is beautiful and can't say enough about the staff, they truly made our trip 100% better. Their recommendations and directions were incredibly helpful. One of the staff even called a pub just to see if it was busy for us! The underground city and metro stations (all day pass for $9) are accessible without stepping foot outside. Location of the hotel was ok, anywhere we wanted to go to was at least 10-15 minute walk, or simply a $10 taxi. There really isn't many businesses within a couple blocks. Could be a good thing.... Personal preference. The hotel pool(s) are unique. They feature 3 separate "pools" one being a hot. Tub, another ice cold and the biggest one slightly heated with a glass bottom. They aren't big pools but got the job done. Teamed with the sauna it was a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
Rooms are plenty big enough for 4 people. Starbucks coffee in the morning for free is amazing. Beds are exceptional. Maid service was thorough daily.
The restaurant/bar was aimed at upscale clientele without a doubt.
It is very clean and ready to accommodate a ton of guests. Free wifi throughout.
Valet service and parking is $25 per day, which wasn't worth it for us since we weren't planning on driving anywhere. We parked 20 feet across the street for $18 a day.
We found an amazing sports bar called the sports station near the corner of St. Laurent and St. Catherine- very good food at even better prices. IGA grocery store is a 10 minute underground walk.
I am very happy we decided on Le Westin for our weekend getaway give it my highest recommendation mainly due to their service. Each employee went above and beyond their duty to ensure we had the best stay possible. Oh yea, and the price is right at around $150 per night after taxes.

“It's the Westin, what more is there to say?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Le Westin has everything you would expect from a first-rate hotel. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great service, and close to many of the attractions of downtown Montreal. The hotel itself is also connected by an underground path to other buildings and shops. It came in handy considering that Montreal got pummelled with snow this winter.

Our room was large with two double-beds. Clean, quiet, and quite economical when splitting the costs with friends. Wi-Fi is also available throughout the hotel free of charge.

The only thing I would criticize is the way the three sets of elevators are set up. They are confusing to say the least. Not all rooms are accessible from the same elevators. We had other friends staying in different parts of the hotel and it took some time to figure out which elevators would take us to their floor.

Thank you kindly for your constructive comments and for being loyal to the Westin brand, Ramirez-Sanchez. The hotel consists of three different towers, two of which are guestrooms, while the third one holds the entire convention space and offices. Make sure to let us know you are coming with friends the next time you’re in town so that we can assign bedrooms close to each other. Happy New Year!

“Nice, well-appointed hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Spent from the 26-28 Dec visiting Montreal. We requested to upgrade to a larger room as my daughter caught a bad cold. We got a jr. suite with a seperate living room/sofa bed + tv- the door closed so we did not hear her coughing all night. The other room had two comfortable queen beds and excellent black-out shades and drapes-we had no idea it was late morning. The maid service was a bit disorganized but it was a holiday period. We complained and were not charged for the upgrade. Valet parking was US$25 per nite -location was good a few blks from center of Old Montreal and a few blocks below St.Catherine St/Eaton Center (about 15 min walk). We easily walked in a blizzard to the restaurants in Old Montreal which were charming and atmospheric. The pools were terrific very well heated and clean. The gym was nice and visible fm the pool area. There was a nice sauna at a good temperature too. The rates were very good at the hotel perhaps due to the winter time period. I would go back.

Room Tip: We had no view - faced a brick wall so I am unable to assist with this info. But the room was very q...

“Long weekend in Montreal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I just spent 4 nights between Christmas and New Years with my wife and two kids (12 yr and 8 yr). I received a good rate from expedia but upgraded to a two bedroom suite upon arrival. For what I paid for the the two bedroom suite I would have expected a little nicer room. The main sitting area of the suite had a lot of wear and tear on the furniture. I would have expected this in a standard room but for a suite I would have thought they'd pay more attention to the details (this is the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars). Location is outstanding, 3 blocks to Notre-Dame and right on the edge of Old Montreal. I valet parked my car and they brought it out within 5 minutes every time I requested it. Metro/shopping area is right across the street giving you easy access to anywhere on the metro. I didn’t eat any meals at the hotel, too many good food options in old Montreal to waste on hotel food. Pool was very good, three different small pools at varying temperature and the glass bottom pool kept the kids interested. The fitness center was very large, with multiple new treadmills, weights, etc. Over all this is a very nice property in a perfect location.

Thank you very much for your comments, w0rking_2_travel. We currently are in the process of remodeling the Premium Suites’ sitting area, including a microwave and an even more comfortable setting. I hope you will find the opportunity to come and try them for yourself next summer. Be well and Happy New Year!

“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We stayed here from 12/27/12 to 12/31/12. We got a junior suite, I thought the decor was only ok but the extra room was nice to have. The pool was perfect, they have 3 pools, 65, 85 and 105 degrees. Perfect to warm up in after a day running around Montreal. We didn't eat at the Gazette onsite, but it was always packed at breakfast time. It's in a great location, near old Montreal and the Basilica but also near the business district.

Room Tip: I wouldn't get a suite again, I thought it was lacking a little, but the room itself was nice an...

Dear dry33, I am glad to read you enjoyed your recent visit at Le Westin. Premium Suites are different from Traditional rooms in that they offer a separate sitting area. If space is important to you, I would recommend booking a Deluxe room, which is almost just as large as the room you stayed in but consisting of only one spacious bedroom, with 2 walls of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. I sincerely hope to get your feedback about these the next time you visit! Au revoir,
