“Wonderful hotel - comfortable, clean and classy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2011

We stayed at this property for 3 nights in November. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by both the doormen and reception. There was some confusion at check in about room allocation (party of 4 traveling with two seperate twin rooms) but eventually was sorted as to who was in which room. We were upgraded from a standard double to a junior suite on the 20th floor.
Lobby was beautiful, modern with great artwork. Handy info screens displaying flight details in and out of Montreal airport.
The room was very generously sized. Junior suite included an entrance room with flat screen TV, couch, chair, coffee table and full length mirror. After walking through this room you were in the main bedroom, with another large full size mirror, wardrobe with safe and robes, another large flat screen TV, drawers and working desk in nice dark wood, another mirror above desk, two lounge chairs in front of gorgeous big window, two queen sized beds and the beautiful large bathroom.
Our friends who were in the standard double room had an exact same room of generous size, comfort and standard - only difference was the extra entrance lounge room in the suite.
There was no mini bar and the fridge was empty, something I really apprecaited. Of course you could call up and ask for mini bar items, the list and prices were supplied, however I much prefer having an empty fridge for my own items to be stored. View from the room was lovely, overlooking the rooftops of Old Montreal and the river - just gorgeous at sunset.
The beds - AMAZING. soooo comfortable and with black out curtains, you could sleep for days! The bathroom - just gorgeous, spacious, heavenly shower certainly was just that with the two shower heads you could adjust to suit and so much room.
Cleanliness of the whole room was exceptional. No dust anywhere at all, really noticed how clean and well kept everything was. The decor as well was modern, sleek and calming. Just loved it.
Free wifi included with room worked perfectly the whole stay. Room service tasted fine, service from everyone in the hotel was lovely. Courtesy calls to ensure our stay was going well and if there was anything we required. We asked for concierge to recommend a hair salon as we were there for a wedding and they organised and booked with someone local, that was just fabulous. Also asked for info re: where to dine, etc and they were great in providing maps and information for us.
Location - it is in the business end of town, near Old Montreal. So very easy access through the hotel to Old Montreal which is a gorgeous part of the city to wander around. If you are looking for shopping, restaurants then it is a bit of a walk to the main streets, however only approx 10 minutes, so over all a good location.
Gym facilities were excellent, one of the biggest and most modern gym areas in a hotel I have seen with comp water, plenty of machines and a great view!
Upon arriving home received thank you email and survey to complete to provide feedback on our stay, which was welcomed and continued the theme that this hotel really makes you feel like they care about the individual and their time at the property.
The whole party who stayed here loved this hotel and I would certainly stay here again and recommend to others when visiting Montreal.

Room Tip: There are oversized corner rooms which I was lucky enough to view that were amazing, higher floors h...

The hotel is clean and beautiful with spacious rooms and a very good restaurant (loved the "bubble" lights). The staff was friendly. The hotel has an indoor courtyard so you aren't out in the weather when arriving or departing. It is conveniently located so you can walk just about anywhere. A couple things they could improve on - bedding that doesn't smell of chlorine and higher quality toiletries. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Montreal.

We stayed at Le Westin for a week in early December and had a wonderful overall experience. The room was large and well fitted with views of the convention center across the street. The hotel is typical of the Westin; well appointed, modern, corporate. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The internet speed and connection wasn't the best and we had a few issues with our password not working. However, seeing that the wireless is complementary, we found it to be acceptable.

The hotel location was good, although still a bit of a walk to Old Montreal and at least a 10 minute walk to most cafes and shops. Many of the local cafes and restaurants close on the weekend (as the area is primarily business oriented). The metro stop was only a few steps from the hotel, which was convenient.

The hotel bar, Gazette, was decent for cocktails, but the food was ordinary (not fresh) and overpriced. The bar was generally filled with business guests or the after work crowd. Room service was to be expected.

Overall, we had a good experience and would definitely return.

Hello Travelkimba! Thank you for sharing your great comments about our hotel. Allow me to assure you that only the freshest ingredients are used at gaZette and within the hotel, but I will make sure your comment reaches our Food and Beverage team for review. I hope you mentioned this issue to the hostess at the time for immediate resolution as food issues, need to be addressed in a timely manner in order to track the provenance of each ingredient. Looking forward to welcoming you again,

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of November, upon arrival we were greeted and check in swiftly.
The room was lovely - on the 15th Floor very modern and comfortable.
Free wifi was included in the rate, which was a great benefit.
The location was fantastic near the old town and within walking distance of all the attractions of Montreal.
I would recommend taking a trip to Quebec, we took the train from the central station which took 3 hours 20 mins each way, but was so well worth it, for a fantastic day out.
I would highly recommend the hotel and its location, and will return.

I definitely had a much better overall value in my previous Montreal stay, however Le Westin was a nice place. It seemed new inside and was clean and the bathroom products were nice, It is close to Old Montreal (5 minute walk barely) which was great - also right beside a Metro stop and that was also great as my hubby and I take the subway when in Montreal. There is not much going on directly outside the hotel - you need to walk a few minutes to see anything of interest... but overall it was a good hotel for sure. I think I overpaid though as there was much cheaper rates listed when I went there and I have paid less for nicer places... just timing I guess!

Dear petzy1, thank you for sharing your impressions of Le Westin online. Without further details about your stay, I cannot comment on the price paid. This said, Le Westin is one of the rare Montreal hotels that offers free WiFi to all its guests, as well as the convenience of a refrigerator and a safe in every bedroom. Hopefully, we will be able to convince you the next time you are in town. Best regards,

Stayed overnight in an SPG floor corner room. Was really spacious and had a really new feel to it.

Can walk everywhere from there...we even walked from the train station (15mins by foot).

Really nice SPG hotel.
