Me and my husband stayed at the Hotel Zero 1 for 2 nights and we loved it. The day we arrived we took the bus from the airport that stopped right in front of the hotel, we just had to cross the street. The hotel has 2 subway options very close to it, and it is also at walking distance from the RES.

The hotel is clean (a little dark because of the dark walls but OK), modern, clean, beautiful room with a LOT of light.

The only thing i missed was a restaurant in the hotel or at least a cafeteria, but it is not quite necessary. The locations is VERY good even though it is just in front of China Town, it is NOT in China Town.

We stayed at this hotel February 17, 2013. We were going to see a show at the Metropolis in Montreal and I saw this new hotel and decided to try it out. It was wonderful, the check in was easy and fast, our room was cozy and perfect for me and my husband. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. They have a microwave and a sink in the room which is great if you are planning on staying longer than one night. The washroom is small but very clean. Overall we loved our stay here.

The hotel has very cozy rooms so if you are planning on spending a lot of time in the room, don't. The rooms are perfectly chic and cozy if you are planning a romantic getaway or want to be in arms reach of someone special. The rooms are clean, beds comfy, and the view spectacular. We overlooked Chinatown and it was great!! The hotel is a short walk from Old Montreal (10 min) or Saint Catherine Street (2 min) for shopping, food, and drink. There is a 24 hour convenience store attached to the hotel for supplies. The staff were wonderful and are willing to help out whenever possible for directions or ideas. One staff member stood out front in a dress shirt to hail us a cab in a snow storm!! The only downfall is no amenities; restaurant, pool, hot tub, lounge...otherwise, totally worth the stay.

Zero 1 is a good hotel at a good price. The rooms are basically furnished and relatively small - but you have all that you need and we had ample space for our three night stay. Staff were friendly and helpful - although we wish that we'd been told about the free muffins and coffee at breakfast (there is no restaurant - opens later this year apparently) on arrival - would've saved one trip out into the snowstorm to get my partner organised for her early start. Still, the hotel is brilliantly located for supermarkets (just over a block away) that it wasn't too big an issue.

Location is also great for getting to downtown and Vieux Port - plus is close to metro and the Gare d'autocars.

Only real issue is that I imagine that it could get noisy if you had busy floor and boisterous neighbours. We had two rooms across the hall who were in for the hockey game ... they were pretty considerate, but you could hear them ...

Would definitely stay there next time we're across in Montréal ...
