“A Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This is a modern hotel located in the heart of Montreal. It is centrally located, putting you within walking distance of most of what there is to see in the city.

The room was sparkling clean, large, and in excellent condition. However, there was no view to speak of, but being downtown it is not to be expected.

The staff, at all levels and in all departments were friendly, helpful, and first rate, going out of their way for guests.

Most impressive was the small restaurant that I would rate on par with one in a luxury hotel. The food and service were exceptional. Everyone working there takes pride in the restaurant, and it shows. I had breakfast and dinner there. I also had an off-hour, mid-afternoon lunch with the food and service being well above average. Breakfast was great.

In short, this is more like a boutique hotel than a chain hotel. I was very impressed.

The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that it simply does not have the appointments or amenities of a luxury hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Montreal Garden Inn for a weekend visit to Montreal for site-seeing and relaxation. Using the Hilton Honors online check-in option, I was able to select a very large king room that was clean, well-maintained, and quiet. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of Montreal's historic district, art museums, and Parc du Mont-Royal. Parking ($25+tax/night) has issues. The hotel is only accessible by elevator from the first two sub-basement parking levels. If you park in sub-basement levels 3 or 4 (the first two levels quickly fill up) you will need to walk up the ramps to a higher level to access the elevator. This a very unsafe situation. Also, internet access frequently dropped in and out in our 8th floor corner room. The business center was 85 degrees Fahrenheit and the remote printing option was inoperable during our stay. Ultimately, the location, price, and cleanliness of the hotel earned it my recommendation, despite a couple of frustrating situations.

I am a Hilton Honors member and stay often at their hotels. I was very disappointed in the service provided at this location. Although the rooms are a nice size and were clean, we had a problem with our air conditioner. When I called the front desk, they said they would send someone up to check it. We waited an hour and finally chose to go sight seeing, hoping the issue would be resolved when we got back. We were gone for seven hours and came back to the same problem, room stuffy and warm. We called the front desk and were told we were on the list. It was 10:30 p.m. and we were ready for bed! No came and after 20 minutes, I called again and was told someone was on the way. He came in and tested the room temperature, said something about water from the roof and said there was nothing he could do. Very disappointing, for the price, I would not return again. A little sketchy in the area and parking is an additional $25.00 per day. We were there with another couple who opened a drawer to find and pipe and half a joint. I guess the cleaning crew was not as thorough as they should have been. We also were scolded for trying to bring a glass of wine up to the terrace. Service very poor.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 220!

We arrived by car and tried to access the garage unsuccessfully, we were directed to park in front of the hotel and check in as we needed the room key to access the garage. Thats ok with me, a little extra security never hurt. The elevators were the same, needing the room key to ascend to the room floors. Also good, in my opinion. The room was ok... Small for a hotel this size but still nice. The bathroom was again a little small but still reasonable. Dont think of looking out windows to magnificent views here or almost any hotel in montreal, you'll see rooftops, air con units and possibly construction sites. The pool was very nice and my girlfriend and I lounged there for approx 2 hrs without noticing the time go by.
The location of the hotel is awesome, walking distance to St Catherine Street and the shopping district, and metro stations not 2 minutes away. Would recommend this hotel if you want a reasonable price in a great location.

We booked our stay at the hilton. The room was clean and comfortable , room 902. Parking available for $25/ day. Check-in was easy and staff friendly. Its in the heart of chinatown, so there are many Chinese eateries. There is a restaurant on the premises of the hotel. The ride to Quebec was easy, with use of the GPS. The rainy day evolved into a beautiful sunny afternoon to visit Notre- Dame de Quebec Church. Overall, my stay at the hilton was pleasant. I should add , as a motorist , it can be challenging because of all the cyclists on the roads!

Well, this is one Hilton I will not go back to. I am a loyal Hilton guest but this was awful. The service at check in was rude, the room was very cold, empty and smelt awful. The breakfast was very disappointing and the parking was almost impossible. I can't believe that there is not a full Hilton in a city like Montreal, only a Garden Inn. The Bonaventure Hilton is very missed. I will have to find somewhere other than Hilton to stay next time I am in Montreal.

This was a very nice hotel. It was in a nice location but has no particularly nice views. The staff was friendly. The room was modern and very well equipped. The regular wifi is slow but the hilton honours wifi was decent. The in hotel bar/restaurant was very nice. Food was good and fair priced. During the week the bar has half price select cocktails at half price yet they claim they have no chips or other to offer with drinks so you have to buy appetisers or fries. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, a 24 hour drug store and also a Tim Hortons and Starbucks. Parking is 24.95 with unlimited in/out priviliges. Spacious bathroom and very large shower. Well furnished, however the bed was quite uncomfortable. Well air conditioned. Vending machines that even accepted debit card and ice machines on all floors.
All over, nice place to stay.
