Six of us had been planning a weekend trip to Montreal together for months. Countless emails went back and forth debating and deliberating over just where we would dine over the weekend. We'd been dying to go to Joe Beef but despite numerous attempts could never get a table however we did get a reservation for Liverpool House and were we glad we got to feast at this little gem; and what a feast it was! The restaurant itself it warm, cozy and comfortable; definitely a place you want to tuck into for a few hours. The menus, which are seasonal and change regularly, are written on giant chalk boards in the main dining area and everyone walks up to view that nights features. The staff can walk up with you and go over the menu in detail if you like and they're all fabulously informed about each and every dish! All six of us were incredibly thrilled with our selections for starter, main and dessert ( which is no easy thing when you have three serious foodies in your group!). The food was really magnificent! Delicate, without being fussy, thoughtful and scrumptious! Among us we has the trout, the halibut, the rib eye, their homemade lobster pasta, the roasted chicken, the fois gras and the carpaccio. Everything was so good. Definitely a great experience and one that you shouldn't miss out on!
