“Wonderful Stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

Our travel plans included a necessary overnight stopover in Montreal to connect to a flight to Cuba, and again on our return home. We chose Aloft Hotel because of its convenient location near the airport. There is a free shuttle between the airport and the hotel, a short 5 minute ride away.

We were greeted at the reception desk by Claude, who was very happy to provide service in English. He checked us in quickly and efficiently, and gave us information and menus for local take-out restaurants. There is complimentary coffee available 24 hours a day in the lobby, which was very welcome after a long day of travel.

The lobby is nicely decorated and the ambiance is very relaxing. There is a bar, pool table, comfortable seating areas, and an available spa. A breakfast buffet is also available for a nominal cost. There is a small selection of snacks and drinks for purchase as well.

Our room was well-appointed, with a king sized bed, flat screened TV, fridge, safe, and very efficient storage space. Free WiFi is provided in the rooms. The other amenities include a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, alarm clock, etc. The bathroom was fitted with a beautiful walk-in shower and very good quality toiletries. Definitely not the usual cheap shampoo and soap provided by many hotel chains! The bed was very comfortable and the linens were deliciously soft.
Both nights we stayed at the Aloft were very pleasant, and we would not hesitate to recommend this property to others. Should our travels take us to Montreal in the future, we will definitely stay here again.

Bad weather forced an overnight near the Montreal Airport and I picked Aloft because it was an inexpensive option in the same location as several other, pricier airport hotels. This one had the same colorful, "urban" contemporary styling of other Alofts and, although my room was on the ground floor, it was relatively quiet for being so close to the airport. I heard a couple of planes during the night, but no cars or guests. The room was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. But the staff was simply splendid. They were quick to help, went out of their way to make sure I was settled in and comfortable. There's no restaurant, but the bar sells food and the young, female bartender went back into the kitchen to make me a fresh caesar salad and then went back in to bring out some edamame. They were clearly happy working at this hotel which speaks to a good management team. And in the morning, the shuttle arrived in five minutes and got us to the airport within about 12 minutes. It's a 3-star hotel, but quite nice nonetheless and good value for the money if you must stay out at the airport rather than in town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the airport. Also, some travelers complained of small rooms, so ask...

Really liked the decor, the rooms, absolutely no smoking and very comfortable and quiet even though close to the Dorval traffic circle. Would definately stay again because of this, however a big negative was having to pay $10 a day to park my car as a paying guest at their hotel. I find this outrageous and a money grab. Only reason for a lower rating. Have never encountered this at any hotel I have stayed at before, and is a reason why I would consider staying elsewhere when we return.

Thank you kindly for staying with Aloft Montreal Airport during your recent travels. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our savvy hotel decor. All of the hotels near Montreal Airport do charge for parking and we feel that Aloft Montreal Airport is fairly priced. If you are ever leaving your car, we do offer packages that include free parking. We hope that you will choose to give us another chance in the future!

Affordably priced; handy by air, train (Dorval VIA station is a four minute cab away) and road (Hwy 20 & 520), good front desk staff, simple, well designed and stylish rooms, included WiFi; breakfast stuff for sale in lobby, lounge/bar in lobby if you feel like chilling and a bit of conversation.
Despite being right adjacent to the airport, you won't hear planes, or nearby highway traffic.
If you are visiting or working in the West Island area this is the spot. A quick run downtown, or mid town Montreal is under 20 minutes.
One downside, not the hotel's fault: constant construction of the 520/20 interchange and airport access, thankfully almost done, makes it challenging to find the road into the hotel. Check a MAP carefully, your GPS will be as confused as you.

This hotel is modern and trendy and in my opinion aimed at younger demographic. The lobby is different and bright and the hotel staff is friendly and seem to go out of their way to help.
My room was kind of a funky layout and the furniture was modern. They do have breakfast served until a certain time, mid morning. However they do not have a restaurant onsite and in the evening unless you have a car or take a cab to go somewhere your are stuck going next door to the Sheraton that has average food at high prices. They also have a shuttle to and from the airport terminal generally every 15 minutes. Priced competitively and a different approach to hotel stays.

The entrance to the hotel was very modern and colourful. The room was clean and nice. The only downfall is since the hotel is new, the ceiling wasn't finished. Parking was $10 or $12. I would recommended this hotel for someone who need to be close to the airport.

Thank you for staying with Aloft Montreal Airport! Our team is thrilled to hear that you had an enjoyable stay with us. Aloft hotels are built as urban loft inspired spaces, therefore the ceiling was left with an unfinished look and feel.
Thank for your feedback and take care!

The room was clean and functional, cool funky lobby and bar, better and more modern that most airport hotels. Nice gym. Okay for one night if have to be near airport. Parking was crowded. Very friendly and efficient reservation service that went out of its way to get me the best deal on the room.

Room Tip: I was on the first floor right in front of parking lot. I would prefer run way view on higher floor...
