“A real gem: amazing food and amazing service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

My husband and i live nearby this restaurant and often heard many good reviews. Though it is a bit pricy, and the main reason why we waited so long to go, its VERY worth it!

We had a lovely table for 2 in the terrasse in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is set in the old Saint-Dorothee county where you feel very cozy. The restaurant is actually an old ancestral house of over 100 years old. So this in itself enrichess the experience.

The service was impeccable! The waiter was so courteous that we wondered if he took a high level course!

The food was... splendid! I cannot put into words how the food took my «saliva» away! Its absolutely sublime! A true gastronomic experience we are not soon to forget! WE will definitely come back again and encourage everyone to go there!

“Good french cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

Nice restaurant in an old house in Laval. They have several rooms and during winter time, try to reserve the seats in the small room with the fire place. The food is good and the service is professional. If you like foie gras and french food is a place to try.

“A well known, but hidden, treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

Located near the old church, public place fountain, in an old house. This quiet and comfortable restaurant offers a great experience.

The service if warm and professional. They make sure you have everything you need. The food is delicious with unique tastes. The menu paired with wine is quite enjoyable.

Good for couples, business or quiet upscale family meal.

“Not 4 diamond worthy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2011

The waiter/host was fumbling over his words and looked lost. The first entre that came was a piece of burnt toast with a chunky mushroom soup on top (which made for a soggy piece of toast) and on top of that a poached egg that was way undercooked (the white was still clear) and for reasons unknown the chef chose to add corn kernels to the mixture??! The risotto was made with long rice which made for a very odd texture - runny and very firm, the spices were right on though. As for the deer it was perfectly done and the blueberry sauce was good. The deserts - do not order the brownie!! Way too much sugar very little chocolate and for some reason the ice-cream seemed to have flower in it, same as the rest of the dishes it was off. For one of the few 4 diamond restaurants in Quebec, they won their 4 diamonds in 1996, seems to me as the chef has stopped caring and his peak is now very much over.
On a good note it is a very romantic atmosphere and very intimate; only 3 tables in the front room which had a large fireplace, the music was not too loud and was appropriate for the setting. Once we had paid we were left alone to talk which was nice not be rushed out of the restaurant.
The bill: expect about 200$+ for two.

“The best restaurant in laval”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011 via mobile

We have been dining here for many years. It deserves to be rank the number one resto in Laval. No question about it.
