“Outstanding, you won't go wrong”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2008

We stayed 3 nights in one of the newly redone rooms, garden view, and highly, highly recommend this motel. For our two week trip this gets our highest rating even with the lowest anywhere cost. Adding to comments by others, the room had been completely redone including the bathroom, flat screen tv, artwork on the wall, crownmolding, great colors, comfortable new beds, new microwave, new refrigerator - nice touches not often found. The owners have really good taste that makes for a pleasant stay.
Although no breakfast was provided at least while we were there, this is no problem. Just go to the grocery and get the basics of a continental breakfast and use the microwave and fridge, there is coffee/tea in the office. If you usually have a cooked breakfast, do the usual and go to one of the diners nearby.
As to location, Summerside is about 20 minutes from the Confederation Bridge. Charlottetown is about 45-60 minutes, but PEI is about 140 miles long so regardless of where you stay you will do a fair amount of driving if you want to also see the east and west ends. Summerside is a reasonable compromise, and you will save a bundle compared to staying in Charlottetown.
Summerside is also reasonably close to Cavendish, the "Anne" houses and site, but the musical play is done in Charlottetown.
Thanks to the owners for a great stay

My husband and I were recently married in Summerside and we needed a place for his large family to stay that was comfortable and close to everything. The SunnyIsle was the perfect location and they all really enjoyed their time there. The newly renonvated rooms were awesome and the hospitality couldnt have been any better. My husband and I were so impressed with the grounds that we ended up taking some professional photos there after the ceremony.
After his family was headed for home we decided to stay behind for another night. The next day before leaving there was a card and bottle of wine waiting for us from the motel owners. We were so happy with our choice and impressed with their thoughtfullness that I've been recomending this establishment to everyone!

Clarks Sunny Isle Motel is the best place that we have stayed in Summerside. It is a very reasonably priced compared to big hotels in the area. The owners are very congenial and do everything to please. The newly renovated rooms are superior and equate to higher priced quality hotels. Not all the rooms have been re-done, but even the other ones are very adequate and very clean, with excellent showers and beds. The owners are working to upgrade all of the other rooms, a few at a time.

One of the nice things about staying here is that it is not too big, so the owners have a real hand in making your stay a good one. The grounds are beautiful as well, with lots of outside places to sit to enjoy the surroundings.

We will go back there.

Having read all the reviews on Trip Advisor this place was just as we'd expected it to be! Clean, quiet with friendly owners who clearly care about their property. The motel offers very good value for money, the grounds are well kept and the walk to the beach is pleasant, but if you go in August (and maybe other months) look out for the bugs!
We had a room at the back of the property, which was very quiet; I am not sure what the rooms at the front would be like for traffic noise.
There is computer in the lobby with free internet and the coffee pot in the lobby is usually full!
