“Nice little place, too bad it's in summerside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2011

This B&B was cute. Very quiet location - on a "main" road but it's next to a cemetery and summerside seems so sleepy that the main road really had very little traffic.
The people running it were very nice. The breakfast was quite large and good (apparently the man of the house was a chef elsewhere, he takes great pride in cooking and it shows). I believe that some of the produce is home grown (they mentioned they have a garden but the weather this year wasn't co-operating as well as it could so this may depend on the month).
The B&b is in summerside, but its not really close to anything and summerside is rather empty so it could be a decent place to stay if you are touring around - but if you wish to stay and walk around a "city" this is not the place to go(try charlottetown instead.)
There are very few food options in summerside that we could find so you might want to seriously consider eating at the b&b, we didn't try the dinner, but given the breakfast I'm guessing it would be nice.
We were the only people at this b&b so it was very quiet. All the bedrooms are upstairs. The bathroom in Anne's room is tiny - shower only (not a problem for us but maybe for others), there seemed to be a main bathroom on the top floor (perhaps communal?) and it looked like a regular sized bathroom(with tub i think). The only thing i can think that might be a problem is temperature. There was a fan in our room but it didn't seem to do much, but as there were two windows (and it cooled down at night) we had them open and the temperature cooled off.

My mother and I stayed for 2 nights at the Warn House in June. We were doing a tour of Nova Scotia and PEI - revisiting my mother's roots and family. The Warn House is centrally situated in Summerside. The house has been restored with shining hardwood floors (which may be why we were asked to remove our shoes). We stayed in the Campbell room, which is kitted with twin beds (our request). We were surprised to find out that the private bathroom described on the website was across the hall. I think the biggest surprise was to find a small card on the bathroom sink on the morning of day 2 advising us that black face cloths were to be used for makeup removal and that and the white towels/facecloths that had to be replaced (I guess due to damage caused by our not using the aforementioned black cloths) would be charged to our bill. I understand the message, and would gladly pay for any linen that was inadvertently left with traces of makup, but I'm disappointed that a more personal approach wasn't taken in communication. On the positive side, Gerry's breakfasts were wonderful. Very healthy, hearty and delicous. The Warn House was in a great location, with amenities such as wi-fi, and laundry facilities - and you could pre-arrange dinner prepared by chef Gerry.

The highlight of our trip to PEI was our stay at Warn House. Gerry and Alice have given such thought to the details that make their guests comfortable. Rather than going out for dinner, we requested a meal at home and were treated to a fantastic lobster dinner. The next morning, along with the other B&B guests we enjoyed conversation and a breakfast fit for a king! If you are planning on staying in Summerside, do not pass the Warn House B&B up. You will not be sorry.

I stayed at the Warn House for two nights while attending the funeral of my aunt. While my trip wasn't for pleasure, my stay at this B&B property was delightful! The room was clean and comfortable without being overly fussy. All of the amenities in my room were obviously selected with thoughtful care, right down to the eye makeup removal swabs! My mornings began each day with a nice wakeup coffee outside of my door. And the breakfast....OH THE BREAKFAST! I think Gerry ruined me for staying anywhere again. The man is a chef.....and you can taste the difference quality makes.

I would recommend this B&B to the discerning traveler, whether for business or pleasure. The ambiance reminded me of a boutique hotel, with a more personal touch. I will be looking forward to my next visit at the Warn Hotel!

The Good: world class breakfast cuisine, delicious dinners, tastefully decorated rooms with comfortable beds and well kept bathrooms. The hosts are poilite, charming, and helpful, and the house is a short drive/comfortable walk from everything in Summerside. Wide array of cable and wi-fi included, beautiful home and grounds,

The Bad: for the overly superstitious, the proximity of a graveyard may bother some, but i did not mind this - the area has great ambiance.
If you are staying in Summerside, it is easy to recommend this particular bed and breakfast. There was very little negative to find here. Having said this, i highly recommend the Captain's room for its en suite bathroom and shower.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely B&B, just a 10 minute walk from downtown Summerside. We were there for three nights, and the breakfast each morning was outstanding. It was a 3 or 4 course gourmet breakfast featuring beautiful garnishes from their new garden, granola and yogurt, oatmeal, and eggs benedict with salmon, french toast or a beautiful fresh omelette. Gerry is a professional chef, and having been 'wowed' with his breakfast skills, he went on to prepare the most memorable lobster dinner, with us watching him right in his kitchen, with his lovely wife Alice, and included zuccini, tomatoes and beets from their garden. It was delightful, and we enjoyed it with another couple staying at the inn. If you are lucky enough to find a rare opportunity to spend a few nights at Warn House, you will treasure your memories. Highly recommended.
