“an unexpected gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

Popped in by chance with two friends from Boston area, who were desperate for Chinese food. Sadly, the asparagus dishes on the blackboard were unavailable, because the asparagus was all gone. However, hot and sour soup, which was very spicy, was terrific and free of thickener; fried dumplings were superb; chicken with ginger and pineapple was okay, but fresh ginger would have been nicer than the Japanese pickled ginger they used; and beef hot pot with bamboo shoots and black mushrooms was terrific, except too many red peppers, and we had ordered shrimp hot pot, not beef. Boston folks, regulars at their Chinatown, gave 9 out of 10.

“The best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

While the decor may not meet your fancy the food is terrific and worth the visit . The family that run the business always have the best interest of the customer in mind. my first choice for chinese food.

“Excellent Chinese food in Charlottetown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

The selection was great, good prices, and authentic Chinese cuisine! The General Tao's chicken (I know, not so authentic selection for my son's choice) was a bit of a disappointment - it was a little chewy and lackluster. The Chinese vegetables and Ma Po tofu (we tried the version without meat) were excellent.

“Amazing food at an amazing price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

The kitchen is spotless (source: a person I know who did the inspection for the place). The food is amazing, and the quantity is good. Two people can eat here for 10 bucks.

“Finally, some spice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Coming from Vancouver, and craving Asian food after a week of driving around the Maritimes, we lucked out by picking this place. Mind you, we used our west coast savvy to pick this place. No name like "Wok King" or best buffet, that's a recipe for disaster, I think. We want fresh, properly cooked, spicy Asian/Szechuan style food. We had the spicy squid, which was cooked perfectly, tender to the tooth, and lots of garlic and jalapeno peppers chopped over the deep fried squid. We also had the Singapore fried noodles, nicely done, but I think the curry spice was a little on the raw side (just added to the noodles instead of cooking the spice first) It was okay. So was the beef chop suey. It was okay. It was very good for not being in a city that isn't famous for this food. We were very very happy to have fresh veggies and some well seasoned food. Nice, friendly service as well.
