We stopped in for dinner during our visit to Charlottetown in large part due to the brewery; a chance to try some different brews. The beer was good but the service and food were excellent. It was Saturday night and the place was hopping. We didn't have a reservation so we were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait. As it turned out, the wait was much less and we took our pints from our seats at the bar to our table.
The restaurant is basic pub layout with a small bar area and what appears to be ample seating. The brewery is downstairs and they offer tours. Check out their website if this is of interest. We weren't interested in a tour.
My wife had the slow roasted shaved "island beef" prime rib sandwich; okay, maybe they could shorten the menu names. The sandwich is open faced and comes with fries but my wife substituted for rice. The sandwich was perfect; tender beef with melted cheese and sauce. A real bargain at $12.99.
I ordered the chicken & chorizo penne (the item is not listed on their website menu). It was spicy and delicious. It came with a melt-in-your-mouth biscuit. Again, only $12.99.
The service was excellent. Our waitress Mandy was supported by other staff so we were never left unattended. I highly recommend this place particularly if you like a pub atmosphere. Great value.
