We had a fantastic stay at the Colonial Charm in the Brighton Suite, the suite is very clean, spacious and tastfully decorated, bed very comfortable. The Historic Inn is a great place to say with excellent service, fantastic breakfasts, and always friendly smiling staff, I have stayed at the Inn before and my time has always been a positive relaxing and throughly enjoyable experience, will recomend to anyone a great place to stay in Charlottetown!

I stayed at the Colonial Inn while my daughter was competing in PEI. It was a really enjoyable stay and Shelley and her husband were very pleasant and helpful to visitors trying to get around the island. While you are there you must eat at the Water Prince; look for the rubber boots kitty corner to Founders Hall; another pleasant surprise. the Colonial Charm Inn was a great place to come home to in the evening!

My wife and I have been to B&Bs all over the world. I always use tripadvisor to decide where to stay. The Colonial Charm has service and warmth far superior than any place we have ever stayed. Shelly knew when I booked that it was our 20th anniversary and had flowers waiting in our upgraded room. One of the best Chef.s on the Island prepares a fantastic breakfast each day along with scones and cookies. The location is perfect for those who like to walk 10 minutes to town one way and ten minutes to the park and waterfront the other way. The owners and staff are truely the nicest people you could ever find. The Casino is only a ten minute drive as well for those who like to gamble or see harness racing. The perfect central location on the island for everything any tourist wants. We golfed on good days and easily drove to Anne Green Gables and other popular tourist sites. We could write ten times this review if the space allowed!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Free Laundry Service! Free exercise room!

We stayed one night only on our way through Charlottetown. Tourism book rated it 4 stars. Shelley was charming and very attentive. Breakfast was excellent. It was within walking distance of everything downtown.... close to Victoria Park and boardwalk. However..
We stayed on the same night as the local High School Graduation night; and our room was at the front of the house. Euston Street is a main thoroughfare, and the inn is right on the roadside. So we had a very disrupted night's sleep. Shelley was apologetic, and discounted our rate, but what with squeaky floorboards and noisy doors, we found it a far from peaceful experience.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay. Because we are located in the dowtown of the capital city which is usually an asset to our guests looking to stay walking distance to all the attractions it was unfortunate that you evening you stayed was our local prom night. We work very hard to make sure all of our guests have a wonderful experience not only at our B&B but also in PEI and unfortunately the local grads walking by were out of our control. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our wonderful breakfast and appreciated the great service at our B&B.

Thanks,
Shelley

We knew that we had picked the perfect "home-away-from-home" the moment we arrived at the Colonial Charm Inn! The staff members of this truly charming bed and breakfast were not only very friendly, but they were also extremely attentive and anxious to please.

The Inn:
There truly is a charming appeal to this house. The finishes and decor throughout were rich & classic: a cozy, home-like atmosphere. The house has a few unique historical ties to Charlottetown - I recommend asking Shelley (the owner) about the history of the home. Tea/snacks were available throughout the day. We were surprised to learn that there was even a fitness centre for the use of guests! Overall, the common areas of this inn were clean, well-decorated, cozy and inviting.

The Location:
Very central ... can walk to anywhere in Charlottetown. Complimentary parking if you will have a car with you for exploring the island.

Our Room:
We stayed in the "Cozy Queen". Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable; we had a private and modern bathroom, cable television with a DVD player, complimentary wireless Internet access, private telephone line and fresh towels/linens. Housekeeping service was provided daily. I would recommend looking into booking a room with a balcony, especially if you're staying during the summer months! While the "Cozy Queen" did not feature a private balcony, we did enjoy sitting on the main porch some evenings which worked out just fine.

Breakfasts:
Delicious! As this was our first B & B experience, we were unsure of what to expect for the breakfast hour. We were kindly informed that breakfast was served daily in the dining room anytime between 8 and 9:30. We got down everyday at about 9am. We were started off with fresh yogurt and fruit, and freshly-cooked meal followed. The western and pancakes were fantastic.

The Staff:
From restaurant suggestions to route-planning, all staff members knew the island well and were anxious to help us plan our trip. We took their advice on where to go and where to eat - we were very satisfied with their suggestions! The owner, Shelley, and her husband, brother and staff member Melanie were very pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed several conversations with each one of them and we were sad to say goodbye!

Overall, the Colonial Charm Inn was an excellent B & B experience for us. It is a big part of the reason why we fell in-love with the beautiful island of PEI during our stay. Stay at least 3-4 days, get to know Shelley and her staff and take your time exploring the city and island, and you'll have a great trip!

This charming Inn welcomed us with open arms. The owner and Staff treated us like we were part of there family. We liked it so much we decided to stay longer. You need at least three full days to discover Charlottetown. Our rooms were spacious and the breakfast was great.

this inn is a great experience , whether with friends or family.
even alone. the innkeeper/family love people and they show it.
Shelley and Gary are conscientious, thorough , keep a clean place, great breakfasts!!
and if anyone needs to know where to shop, eat or sight see, they know all.
maybe some guests may be blessed to see their children , who are a delight.
this is my 2nd time in Charlottetown, but this is the best place to stay.
