“We'll definitely come back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2011

My wife wanted to meet Will and Kate (Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) so badly that we decided last minute to do a road trip to PEI from Boston. I happened to stumble upon Cranford Inn on TA and luckily they had some rooms available for that weekend. Right from the beginning, Vickie (the owner) was so pleasant to deal with. She was very patient and willing to help with all my questions over the phone. When we got there, Vickie was very warm and welcoming to us. Martha, the other host, showed us almost all the rooms they have. Trust me (my wife and I are both picky), you cannot go wrong with any of the rooms at Cranford. I told the hosts that the pictures on their website don't do the rooms any justice. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a lot of character. Plus, (this is very rare) each room had access to a balcony/porch. We were always out so we weren't able to take advantage of ours. The inn was in a great location with a beautiful garden in the back. We stayed at two different rooms in our two-night stay there and one of the rooms (Sandstone) had a great view of the garden (this room also has a very nice tub and fireplace). We were also very pleasantly surprised with the breakfast. It was a full course breakfast and was very delicious. They served something different in the two days we were there.

We have stayed at a lot of B&B's but this place may be our favorite so far. This inn demonstrates a lot of attention to detail but what makes this place even more special is the service and friendliness of the hosts. They were always willing to help and provide suggestions - from points of interests and activities to restaurants, etc. Special thanks to Katie as well who was around when Vickie and Martha were gone. Since my wife was going to leave really early to see Will and Kate (before breakfast is served), Katie decided to pack a breakfast bag for her with cookies, granola bar, apple, juice and to-go cup for her hot tea. Not only that, half an hour after we had asked her if she knew of any store that was still open (since it was past 8 pm already) to buy a lawn chair for my wife to use while waiting for W&K (of course, there were no stores still open), Katie showed up with a foldable lawn chair to lend to my wife. We were so surprised by her/their nice gestures since they went above and beyond to please us. When we came back after seeing W&K, Vickie and Martha were very interested in hearing about our experience. The unfortunate part of our stay is that we were only there for a short time. However, this is a great reason for us to come back to amazing PEI and stay again at Cranford Inn!

Room Tip: We saw pretty much all rooms and they all look nice, clean and spacious to us. Cannot go wrong with...

Situated on a lovely tree-lined street only 2 blocks from downtown, this bed&breakfast inn is a real gem! Owner Vicki Francis greeted us at the door and thoughtfully inquired about any dietary restrictions. (something most other b&b owners I've encountered have not asked about). She made a special effort to ensure I could enjoy a lactose-free breakfast. The inn is spotless, warm, cheerful and very tastefully decorated in modern muted soft greens, blues and sands. My daughter and I stayed in the Opal Room: this had two very comfortable twin beds, and the room included nice touches such as a corkscrew, some sweets and a hairdryer. Each room at the front of the house has a balcony (shared between 2 rooms but certainly plenty of room) that has a spiral exterior staircase as another exit/entry option. We will definitely be back!

We booked at the last minute through Tourism PEI and got a room at the Cranford Inn. We honestly did not know what to expect. We lucked out. Honestly one of the nicest B&B's we have had the pleasure of staying inn. Immaculately kept, tastefully decorated and full of East Coast Hospitality. From the amazing hosts to the perfect breakfast our stay in Charlottetown was crowned by the Cranfor Inn.

Room Tip: Within walking distance of down town.

My husband and I stayed at the Cranford Inn recently and I can't say enough about it. It's spotlessly clean, the furnishings are impeccable, the hostesses are welcoming, and the breakfast was wonderful! The whole atmosphere is bright and comfortable. If you're in Charlottetown this is where you want to stay! It's a 5 star establishment.

The property is immaculate and extremely well maintained. Our room was bright, spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had access to a deck overlooking a lovely flower garden. The breakfasts were abundant and delicious--we did not need to eat lunch because we were full from breakfast. The inn is an easy walk to downtown and is on a quiet and pretty street. The innkeepers are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the island.

Our room was beautiful with a propane fireplace that just invited you to sit and read in the, yes, TWO comfy chairs and footstools tucked in front of cosy fire. Patio doors to a nice deck and a lovely bath; elegant decor without the frills and ruffles found in many inns. Even more important, the bed was so comfortable!!! Add to this immaculate housekeeping; a breakfast that was delicious; public areas that are lovely and gardens that are just starting to blossom (even with this wet, dreary spring); a friendly and welcoming owner and it would be hard to find accommodation to compete with the Cranford Inn. We loved it!!!

This Inn was recommended by friends who gave it a RAVE review. They did not mislead us. From the beautifully decorated lobby with a view to the back gardens to our King size room, we were totally impressed.Color co-ordinated duvet and bedding to matching big thirsty towels in the adjoining bathroom, I think the linen sheets were even ironed, they were so smooth. Breakfast was a 5*.Homemade muffins, waffles with fresh strawberries and real cream( none of that canned stuff). Great coffee, we could not eat it all. The innkeepers (owners) were warm & friendly but still very professional. The gardens around the property will be amazing to sit in come summer.

Room Tip: King room , garden view,Quiet
