We had fish and chips here and it was very good you need to go when your hungry as it is a heavy meal the fish pieces are hand breaded and the chips are hand cut well worth the price one down fall they only have coke products but oh we'll they can work on that very good dining well worth the money

“The most expensive fish and chips you will ever eat.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We wanted some fish and chips so we decided to go to Water St. Fish and Chips. Did we make a mistake. For 2 Fish and Chips, 2 cups of seafood chowder and 2 diet cokes it was $57. The fish was so fishy you could not eat it. I don't know how you can make halibut fishy. It tasted like fish smells. We got a small bowl of flavorless seafood chowder, one small piece of halibut and a few fries. We could not eat the meal but were charged anyway. We will not go back. The service was slow and unfriendly. If I could I would not give this restaurant any stars.

“Stop in!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

A very good place to stop in as you walk around town from your cruise ship. The fish and chips are very good, beware portions are large, and a local brew will compliment your meal. Again, nice to meet you Quentin(manager), good talking with you.

“Must try”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Overall great experience at this restaurant. It's in a great location downtown and the inside of the restaurant is quaint. Service was outstanding; friendly, polite and extremely helpful. The pieces of fish are very generous and the fries are hand cut into thick slices (probably some of the tastiest french fries I've ever had). The tartar sauce was homemade and I think that recipe should be patented because it is absolutely delicious; if it was socially acceptable I would have eaten it directly out of the bottle. If you haven't tried Water St. Fish & Chips you are seriously missing out.

“Really??”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Wow, don't quiite understand how someone could be serving tables in a fish and chip restaurant and not know what cod is while at the same time being blissfully unaware that there is a huge province wide burger promotion going on which the restaurant is a part of. Fish was ok but very greasy. fries were fine. tartar sauce was just plain gross. you squeeze it out of a ketchup bottle and it is so watery it just makes a lake at the bottom of your plate which engulfs everything on it. So now I am eating french fries soaked in this white liquid. nice. All I can do is shake my head and move on. 2 stars for edible food but thats about it.
